Swap Question

So on Facebook, I have joined a cross stitch exchange and was assigned to another group member. I really want to get a pattern off of Cloudsfactory.com for her, but have no idea on how to do so. It's a download-only type of thing, so it seems weird to download it and print off a "copy" to ...

Re: Question About Bucilla Kits

I love the results, but hate the work when it comes to Bucilla. I've done 3 (bought all 3 before working a single Bucilla). One was on evenweave, so the 1/4 stitches were fine. But after I was finished, I realized that one of the colors was different the rest of the green. It's noticeable on the fin...

Re: No such thing as good customer service.......ranting

The main reason why we don't even have TV service in our house is due to the fact that two separate companies have completely screwed up our service. So dad got mad and canceled TV altogether (thank God for Netflix!). #1...Time Warner Cable We started out fine, but then they started overcharging aft...

omg omg omg LNS FOUND!

I can't believe it! I have FOUND a nice stitchy shop within 30 minutes of my house. It's primarily needlepoint (and I'm sure they'll get me doing a needlepoint project), but they still have nice threads and a bit of cross stitch. They're getting even more xs stuff in too. Went a while ago when they ...

Re: Stitchy Spot GONE!

Well, I was able to get comfortable on the loveseat in the living room... Pull the coffee table closer, prop myself up with a couple of blankets, open up the blinds and ta-da! "Instant" stitchy spot! BUT....(minor detail)...I need to switch back and forth on the couch according to whether ...

Stitchy Spot GONE!

So with the new year came a new furniture arrangement in the house. Unfortunately, that included my stitchy spot...a recliner perfectly positioned to get optimum lighting and a table next to it. Dad had moved the recliner to a more awkward position that doesn't get much light at all, even in the mid...

Re: Not Been Around Much but...

Glad surgery went well and that you heal up fast. But so sorry to hear about Scooby :( I, too, lost a dear family member recently. He was a Sheltie named Bailey. At 15 years old, we decided that his arthritis was causing him too much pain and we had him euthanized on Dec. 27...so it's still very fre...

Re: Strangest place you've stitched?

I'm a regular McDonald's and Starbucks stitcher lol. I've also stitched while dog-sitting (literally just at someone else's house), at the physical therapist's/doctors' offices, tried it while riding in a car...not fun and quickly put it away before I *clears throat* messed it up. But the most unusu...

Re: Are you looking for a Local Needle Shop in your area?

Thank you. I think it was primarily the website that was having a bit of an issue. Got it working, though. Didn't find any stitchy shops in my area, of course, but did see a few craft shows coming up :D

Re: A question about dark fabrics ??

I had just finished working on a tiger cross stitch that was on black fabric. Stitching a dark blue (1 thread, half cross stitch) over the black was what I found to be difficult. And then after working on black, what do I go and do? Finish up another UFO that has it on dark blue. The thread I'm curr...

Re: Tell me I'm not the only one...

Just finished a project that had LOTS of metallic thread. Fortunately, it was all half stitch. I never had a problem with it fraying on me, but it was a pain to get everything taut since I was using one metallic thread and one regular thread. The metallic kept wanting to pop up. I'm SO glad I'm done...

Re: Shall I/shan't I

Yay!
Was about to say...if I had all of mine finished with organization, and I found out that I only need a few (which I probably do...there's a lot of numbers I have already), I would definitely buy the rest just to have on hand.

THIS! We also need a button to auto-wind and sort hehe.

UFO to be FINISHED

So I finally got my stitchy bug back  and finished the project I was working on. It's a Christmas present for my mom. But for the first time in years, I didn't have another one planned. Well, ok, technically I did since I wanted to start on the HAED that I got for my birthday last year, but I...

Re: When/where do you stitch?

It depends. Since I'm a college student, it all depends on when my classes are. I haven't stitched lately, though. (Stitchy bug needs to come back.) I usually stitch at whatever time of the day in the recliner in the family room. By 10:30PM, I'm almost always upstairs on the computer or watching a m...

Re: Stitching Gifts for People???

I am also selective in the things that I stitch for people. I give them things that I know match the decor of their home. Or their personality. The things I do are personal to the recepient. This! I'm always so careful in what I choose for those I stitch gifts for. I have stitched the following... ...

Re: Stitching Gifts for People???

I do worry about that...reason why I haven't given any to my grandma lol. She's just as happy with a poster of flowers, quite honestly. Even when she was younger, she never did fully understand certain concepts. So trying to get her to understand just how much work goes into a cross stitch is like t...
