Re: My Inlaws stitch gallery
oh they're nice but some of them have become dirty. You should try and save them. I always feel bad when I see finished cross stitches in dirty or poor conditions. Not very many realize the expense that goes into each piece, much less the labor of love that went to it. That alone makes each piece pr...

Re: Do you wanna see my Peacock?
I thought about that too coz I've never seen one and I figured, there probably is because there's always an albino version of animals, even snakes. Anyway, thanks for the photo geekishly. Here's another one. http://media.treehugger.com/assets/images/2011/10/full-albino-peacock.jpg I never thought wh...

Re: Krenik very fine braid 032
Hello,
Kreinik is very expensive. If you need a cheaper alternative, why don't you try DMC Light Effects E5200. It's only around USD 1.50 per skein.
Pm me if you want to know where to buy it.

Re: Anyone from Utah? I need your help.
Hello Reta, I already referred to that photo several times before. It kinda looked like it but it really isn't. Now I looked at it again and I realized, the totem pole is not part of the design as it is hidden in the back but the butte's close to it are. And the one upfront is actually the thumb. Ve...

Re: Anyone from Utah? I need your help.
Thanks for your help.
So if it is not the three sisters, could it be the totem pole?
I think angle is so unusual, it's so hard to decipher.

Anyone from Utah? I need your help.
Can you please confirm if this is in Monument Valley and what the name of the structures up front is. I'm thinking it is the 3 sisters but it is so difficult to identify. Hope someone can help me out.

tip for working on black fabric simply putting a white fabric on your lap underneath the black fabric. that is only if you are not using a frame.

Re: Dye Lots (DMC)
There are slight changes in DMC's dyelot, particularly the ones replacing the discontinued lots. If you really worry much about the dyelot, I can get you one box of a color. It contains 12 skeins from the same dyelot. just pm me. Also, the handling of the threads will cause slight changes in colors....

Re: Aida count
actually it depends. If your chart is a converted-from-photo chart, then stitching it on a higher count fabric would definitely make it look better. Kinda like an impressionist painting. When you look at it from afar it looks so detailed but when you look at it upclose, it's not really something you...

Re: embarrassed by cross stitch?
Mig I think you hit the nail on the head. Although I don't buy cross stitch magazines anymore because they just took up space, when I did buy them I bought my woodworking ones and fitness mags with it too. You simply just don't want to be judged because of a craft preference. Exactly the same reaso...

Re: Does this come off as insensitive?
Thank you for the nice comments. Anyway, I'm not going to stitch it as it is way too big and it has lots of straight stitches that would drive me nuts. lol.

Re: Here is an amazing project from DMC
That is amazing :applesauce: are you going to do it As much as i want to, i don't have enough patience to do it. lol. It would probably take me years and lots of frustration. This design is massive. 588w x 360h. 74 colors. A lot less than the 150 plus colors of Flower Power, another massive design.

Re: Brands of Floss: Preference?
The green ones in particular. Although the color does not come off, it may color your hands green. I think this is true for certain productions. They may have changed their formula. Anyway, I posted a poll in my blog about DMC versus Anchor. Here are photos of the outcome. One is in DMC, another is ...
