I bought that magazine yesterday and was thinking of making the falcon for my dad as his birthday present in October (which means I can get the cards out of the way first). There really was some fab designs in this one my to do list seems to be getting longer and longer

I'm going to sound like a dunce here but I don't actually know what lurex aida is

I thought about the design and decided to stick with the blue it was because of a suggestion by my other half that I thought of black as he said it would make a nice night scene.

I mentioned that I'm going some cards for our scout group to fund raise with, and in order to keep me motivated to tackle this project I hope you don't mind that I'm creating a SAL. I have my stash and my first card will be The snowy cottage design . I just need to decide if I should do it on black ...

Once I get started I'm going to post a SAL so people can keep me going I just need to go out and stock up on material etc.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I emailed the site that I found the designs on and they are more than happy to allow me to use them as its for charity The only thing they request is that I place the designers name somewhere on the card.

Sorry if this isn't in the right section but I have a couple of questions about card making. I make cards for special occassions (birthdays, fathers day etc) but I've been asked by the scout group I help out at to make some to sell at their bonfire night fundraiser. That second link has one callled Dawn that I'm tempted to get for myself. I'm taking classes as part of my attempt to loose weight (its a fantastic cardio workout)

I'm heading out to the craft store later I'll be sure to check for that magazine Angel.

My two little girls are currently learning how to Belly Dance and I wanted to make them a card or a picture of a Belly Dancer to encourage them to keep on practicing.

Does anyone have any ideas as to where I might be able to get a chart from please?
