Christmas Stitching

So, I usually stitch to make my Christmas cards. In the past I have started these around mid-September. However, for some reason this year, I feel more eager to start earlier, so have been looking at different charts to chose a theme. Does anyone else make their own Christmas cards, and if so, when ...

So excited!

Yesterday I ordered a job lot of 100 threads, and 100 plastic bobbins (you know, the flat type that you can write on).. Now all I can think about is the satisfying feeling I will have adding the threads to the bobbins, and organising them in to some sort of order. Does anyone have these feelings? I ...

Re: Printed Vs Counted

Thank you for confirming that its called 'stamped'.... I think I knew what it was called, but yesterday when I first posted, my brain was on another planet :tizzy: I was curious, as before joining this site, I had never heard of stamped, and didn't even know it existed. Every day is a school day - a...

Printed Vs Counted

Hi everyone, hope you're all ok. Ever since learning to Cross Stitch, I have only ever done Counted. However, sometimes I have noticed people talk about printed cross stitch, where the pattern is printed on to the material. Are there many of you that use the printed method (not really quote sure wha...

What do you do with finished projects?

I was taught to cross stitch by the pastor's wife at our church when I was a teenager. I remember visiting their house, and the living room walls were full of gorgeous stitching she had done. I was wondering, what does everyone else do with their finished projects? Do you find you stitch mainly to g...

Thank you for all your comments.
I am really enjoying working on this one, even though there is a lot of confetti. I am loving the colours. :)

Re: my first SAL

Thank you for your kind words. Havent stitched at all the last week. The day after I posted the update my dad was rushed into hospital with a low heart rate. Thursday was the worse day, as he was rushed into theatre after his heart stopped, and had to be shocked twice. Hes now had a pace maker fitte...

Re: my first SAL

Well here is my next update of Damsel. Haven't been able to work on her much, which is a shame, because I am loving it. Maybe I need a few sick days from work lol. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo235/ClaireSabin/image1.jpg I cant stop looking at the colour of her dress. The red is so gorgeous :)

Re: Avatar name?

Well, I am the youngest of 3 girls. Growing up, my mom found that everyone would shorten their names. So, 13 years after my middle sister was born, I came along as a huge surprise and a bit of a mistake (my mom says I was the best mistake she ever made - aww). So it was decided I would be given a na...

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

Ooh I have a few confessions... 1. I have completed kits, and then not done anything with my work - I have some completed now that are sat in my sewing box (such a waste I know - I am working through them to get them framed/turned into cards etc) 2. I lick the thread  3. I get carried away loo...

Re: A Finished SAL

these have no backstitch either - however, there is a lot of half stitches. I had this from hobbycraft. However, I am off the hobby and stitching show at the NEC in March, so plan to stock up there. And at the same time, my husband will be in another hall at the NEC spending money, as the photograph...
