Re: Happy Birthday Busy_B!!!

Thanks! I ended up having the day off work so I could drive my mom for her cataract surgery this morning. Everything went well.

Re: Squirrel's Stitching 2019 Update 8/2/19

:applesauce: We’ve always had squirrels around growing up. My mom and Grandma would feed them. If we forgot to put treats out, we’ve had ones knock on the screen door or stare in the door or window waiting for us.

Re: Canyon Flight update 2/14/2019

The colours are so warm and rich, it is a fabulous project. I am in awe of how you can use the parking method and not get confused with all the threads. Looking forward to the next update.. :) Those aren’t parked threads. I have a terrible time with parking! Those are the tails of the threads. I fi...

Re: New Stitching Buddy

Onyx has definitely found a family to spoil him. Even though he follows DH around everywhere and stresses when he leaves, I’m the lap he goes to in the evening. Luckily he doesn’t get in the way of stitching on my q-snaps that often. It’s usually when he wants to be super snuggly that he lays right ...

Actually, I think this one has the most left. I’m on row 2 of 6? Rows.

Re: HAED Christmas Carol 2/14/19

Can I ask, is the picture of the full design a picture of the stitched piece, or of the original artwork? I'm just asking because the sky seems a bit lighter on your stitched version. The picture is supposed to be the finished project. It was taken from HAED’s site. I hadn’t noticed the difference....

New Stitching Buddy

We’ve talked about getting a dog for several years. Back in November, DH wanted to go to an adoption event. We ended up coming home with Onyx. They say he’s a Boston Terrior, but we believe the paperwork is wrong. Not many people were stopping to look at him since there was a sign on his crate that ...

HAED Christmas Carol 2/14/19

I started this one about a year ago. DH loves the older version of Christmas Carol, so I thought this would be a good gift when it’s done. Here’s what it’s supposed to look like. http://i67.tinypic.com/2i8bp5w.jpg Here’s my progress so far. It is in my rotation. http://i66.tinypic.com/2h3o0ux.jpg ht...

It has been quite a while since I’ve worked on this one. It is the current project in my rotation. Unfortunately it hasn’t gotten much attention this week, but I have 2 more days before I switch.

Re: Feed My Sheep update 2/14/19

Wow! Five years since an update. The bad thing is that this was supposed to be for my daughter’s first communion in 2nd grade. She is now an 8th grader. I put this one in my rotation hoping I can stick with it and finish it.

Re: Canyon Flight update 2/14/2019

It’s hard to believe that I haven’t updated this one in a year. Life has gotten in the way a lot over the last year, so I haven’t really been posting. Now that things have gotten into a routine again with teaching, I’ve had more time to stitch. I’m trying a weekly rotation to try to make progress on...

I was just getting ready to post some updates after being absent for so long when I saw on Facebook that the site was down. Glad to see it back up. Time to update some old projects.

Re: ORTs anyone?

We were asked to make an ornament that represents us for the work Christmas tree at my new school. I took the orts from this year and a few threads from old kits if things I’ve made for my kids and put them in a plastic ornament.

Re: Canyon Flight update 3/4/18

I'm slowly getting more done on this. I changed schools where I teach in January--one week off for holidays and completely pack up one classroom and set up another. I'm lucky to get a couple of hours a month to stitch right now. This is where I was in January. I've gotten a little more done since th...

Thank you! I really need to find time to stitch! Between both kids having robotics competitions, DD having color guard competitions every weekend (dance, flag, rifle, etc), and changing schools where I teach at winter break, it's been hectic!

Re: Hoping there maybe some school teachers here....

I don't teach elementary, but I can understand the problem. In our state, cursive has been taken out of the mandatory curriculum so most students don't learn it any more. Depending on the grade she's going in, teachers may not want the students writing in cursive yet. Depending on her age, you can m...

Re: Where has everyone gone?

I know I haven't been around much the last few years. Between going back to teaching which takes up more hours than in a week, kids' soccer and school activities, running a soccer club for 5 years, and my mom's health this year, I haven't had much time to stitch. I'm really hoping to be more active ...

Re: Canyon Flight update 4/1/2017

It never seems like life gets any less crazy for us. I've been on spring break with my kids for 2 weeks, and I've gotten a few hours of stitching in in between dentist and doctor appointments and other things to take care of while I'm off plus still running a soccer club. Over the last couple of mon...
