Oh, thank you! I just got back in (Thank you, Alex) after not being able to log in to the new site and I was looking for that very thing. I'm lost without 'find new posts'.
Yay!

Re: Hyperventilating from sticker shock!
I find generally that 123Stitch has good selection and good prices and they are my go-to site for stitching supplies. I still like NordicNeedle, though. Their prices not the lowest, but I can't beat the customer service. I use Anita Little Stitches for needles because it's the only place I've found ...

Re: Not getting notifications?
I haven't posted in a while, so I can't really say, but most of the time when I come to the forum, I still get that 'dangerous site' warning screen. When I click through, I am logged out and have to log in again.

Re: Young stitchers
Sure, pick away. :) If you go to dmc.com and select "Patterns" and then sort by "Free Cross Stitch patterns" they have quite a number of what I consider "a-couple-of-hours" patterns that are very uncomplicated with a small number of colors and would take a novice stitch...

That's a hoot!
(And FYI, I have the recipe for homemade Nutella. No need to riot. Don't let the shortage cause a panic again.)

Re: Cross stitch magazines and patterns
I rarely look at the posted date first so yeah, I've done it a few times. It does show, though, that folks are actually using the Search feature, which is a good thing.

Re: Anyone know which pattern this is?
I've never dealt with them before, so I can't help there, but here's the website: http://verachtert.be/index.php/vervaco-en/" target="_blank and there are quite a few of their products on 123Stitch: https://www.123stitch.com/s/all/all/Vervaco/1/0/0/0/all" target="_blank Of course...

Re: Best stitching posture
I sit in a recliner with my feet up. I have a table stand that straddles the chair and its legs sit on tables on each side of the chair, so once I'm seated, I pull the stitching to me instead of me leaning to the stitching. I pretty much just pour myself into the chair and surrender to gravity. It's...

Re: Help please. How much material do I need?
I remember you. :) Welcome back. Divide the stitches by the fabric count to get the design dimensions. In your case, you're doing 25 count over two so that is essentially 12.5 count ( 25 count ÷ over 2 = 12.5 count). So for your project, it would be 200 stiches per side ÷ 12.5 count = 16 inches Th...

Your stitching is just fabulous. I must admit that I really didn't like it at first, having not been acquainted with this version of the painting, but I see the draw now and you've done it justice. Excellent!

Your hand-crafted daffodils are lovely! I miss daffodils (and tulips and crocus and hyacinths and . . .on and on). It doesn't get cold enough for long enough here to set the bulbs. That picture is like a ray of sunshine!

Re: ORTs anyone?
An ort, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is a morsel or remaining scrap from a meal and thefreedictionary.com adds that it is more generally used as another name for leftovers, but doesn't associate it with food. So it's a scrap or a piece left over. It's not an acronym. Someone told me once that...

Re: Design sizes
I always use mats when framing. You can make non-standard size stitchwork fit in a standard-size frame with mats. I think I might be a bit annoyed if a design started with frame-size constraints. The designer can't possible know what I plan to do with the finished piece. You can always adjust the si...

Re: Buying 32 ct linen in bulk?
I buy my fabric by the yard, so yes, you can get it in bulk. Try 123stitch.com (https://123stitch.com/32-Count-Linen" target="_blank). Figure out how much you need. A 'full' yard is 36 inches x 55 inches depending on the fabric and manufacturer. (Some are 50 inches, some a little less and ...

Re: Need help with pattern
That is very frustrating. I don't have that pattern, but my first thought was.....is the picture of the finished design clear enough that you can figure out what those colors should be?
