Re: Where has everyone gone?
Hello from another disappearee! Last summer I had posted a hello thread about how I was hoping to be a regular again and then almost immediately stopped checking back in again. The last year and a half or so have been very chaotic, and I've not felt like myself across all areas of life. It's ...

Re: Hi everyone *shyly waves*
Well seems like my announcement of my return was a bit pre-mature. Due to more personal stuff, I struggled with my crafty mojo for the rest of 2016 and well into 2017. But I've gotten most of the personal stuff under control, and I hope I find my way back to being a regular part of the community her...

Re: Hi everyone *shyly waves*
Thank you so much for the warm welcome back! I knew I missed you all for good reason!
I am so glad to be back! I can't wait to see what everyone's been working on. I'll post an update on what I've been stitching on soon.

Hi everyone *shyly waves*
Anyone remember me? I wouldn't blame you if you didn't! :D (Some of you might remember me better as verajane, as that was my username for most of the time I was really active.) It's been quite a long while since I've visited with you all, and honestly it feels like too long. I won't go into boring d...

Re: Stashmas gift thread
I am an incredibly lucky girl. Carole heard that I would be getting my stashmas gift a wee bit late (which I was totally fine with. Stashmas is Stashmas!), and she was super generous and sent me a second stashmas gift so that I would have something to open on December 1st. Carole, I still can't beli...

OT: Yippee!
I haven't been active a lot lately because I've been studying for my third actuary exam. I took this exam in March and failed, so this was my second time taking it. I studied very hard, especially the last three weeks or so when I didn't do anything but study. Anyway, it paid off and I passed!! Wooh...

Re: Stashmas: Questions, Concerns and Chatter
I too wanted to make something handmade for my giftee, but between work and a huge exam I have coming up in a week and a half (eek! ), I just didn't have time. Hopefully the other parts of the gift make up for it.

Re: Been a year of cross stitching....
I agree with a lot of what others have said. I don't work on one stitching project at a time, and the ones that I work on are often quite different from each other. Some are small and simple, some have different stitches, more shading, etc. I have been stitching for about a year and half now. Althou...

Re: bookknurd's Misc. Stitches- Superhero Alphabet (8/26)
It's done!!! I have been stitching non-stop on this thing for the last couple of weeks. I love the way it turned out, but boy was I sick of stitching on it there towards the end. I can't believe I got it done with plenty of time for framing (I'm not giving it to my SIL until a little over a month fr...

Re: Stashmas: Questions, Concerns and Chatter
I say that if you would be happier with something specific, rather than taking the risk that your gifter interprets your list differently, be specific. I would rather buy someone something they are happy with than not. That being said, I love surprise and my favorite part of this is seeing what some...

Re: Gary's WIP's
Do you stitch with your fabric pulled taut in a hoop or frame? If so, you shouldn't need to pull the threads very tight, just enough so that the thread is laying flat (and not flopping around loosely). I like to have my fabric very tight while I stitch, so that even when I pull the thread through, u...

Re: Slowly coming back...
I do quite a few crafts, and while I will also wish for more time to spend on them, I feel like I get a good bit done on all without them getting in each others ways. A big thing that helps me to is to figure out what times are best for each craft. An hour or two to myself at home with no interrupti...

Re: What's your dream job?
I've actually been giving this quite a bit of thought lately. I enjoy my current job because it scratches the analytical/mathematical part of my brain (and that is definitely something I need in my life). But I also am finding that stitching, sewing, knitting, spinning, etc are more to me than just ...

Now that you mention it, she does appear to have a bit of a five o'clock shadow.Gypsy57 wrote:Don't you think that the girl- the geranium fairy, looks like she has a beard?? Maybe I'm the only one who thought that!?
