I don't like the idea of it squishing my floss under the clamp. Especially if it moves any. It may even rip or tear 'em.
Just saying...

Re: Fabric markers and pens and pencils
WOW! I really like the idea of 'vanishing ink'.
I'll look into that one.
Thanks,

Fabric markers and pens and pencils
Hi all,
I don't actually want to grid out the pattern on my material but I would like to make a few key marks at various places across my aida.
BUT, I need it to be washable. Water soluble is key with one of these.
What would you recommend for a marking pen or pencil?
Thank you,

If you're not going to sell them or give them away, copyright doesn't come into the scene.
As long as you keep them for your own personal use, you're safe.

Glad I'll never run into that dilemma.aussie_stitcher wrote:I have a new almost confession: I was working with white thread the other day and went to thread a new piece. I stopped myself from licking the thread just in time; I'd forgotten I had bright pink lip gloss on! That would have been a whoops!

Re: Ship at Sea by Mr. Rick
I'm going to leave it like this til Tuesday when I pick up my stand then I'll play around with it while it's in the stand. Honestly, I may dump the whole idea and go back to hand stitching all my projects that are this small. To be frank, I prefer frameless stitching or freehand or whatever it's cal...

Actually, I don't care for it. I don't like stitching down in a well, so to speak.

Re: Basic Needling Question
If you are familiar with general sewing, one strand of thread is normally used. When cross stitching, we buy a skein of floss with 6 strands in it. We then strip out whatever the instructions ask for and thread that number into the needle. We don't double it as in sewing, we just pull an inch or two...

Re: Ship at Sea by Mr. Rick
Not a major update but I wanted to show it off anyway.
I also rerolled my aida around the shafts the other way. Although, I don't like it this way...
So, here's where I stand so far.

Re: Ship at Sea by Mr. Rick
I've had to rethink my issues when it comes to the jaggies and cross stitching and have made myself except it as, 'that's just the way it is', like it or not. I mean, after all, it is just simple cross stitching. :D So, I've edited my ship's masts and poles as such. http://allricksstuff.com/ForumPix...

Re: Logging Train by Mr. Rick
Yes, I agree, it is a great scene although, I don't believe I'll stitch it after all. Reasons are many. Total costs will be around $100. I can't do it on smaller weave material cuz of my failing eyesight. Just to name a couple... I tried to re-size it but the pic that was sent is a pretty poor quali...

Logging Train by Mr. Rick
My Logging Train came in today. The original pic is more colorful and much nicer to view then this sample I've posted here. It does have a lot of confetti in it. On 14ct aida, it's pretty big at 25"x18" and I don't think I can do it on a finer weave cuz of my eyesight. Looks like a super m...

Arkansas welcomes you, too.
We love pictures! It's almost a requirement.
Post some pix, I'd love to see an antique Xstitching.
