Re: Getting fuzzy left overs out?

Lint roller, or tape :) works a treat and doesn't damage your other stitches.

Re: 2014 Mini Projects

I did these a month or so ago, for myself and my husband. We both do karate several times a week, and sweat towels have long been part of our standard kit. Neither of us is black belt yet, but we will get there, nothing wrong with a bit of motivation! http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q290/sootycat...

Re: KK's first HAED - Snow Princess and the Polar Bear

Looking at the original picture (which I do often, trying to place my progress along the bigger picture) there might even be another star by the time I finish this page! I am really enjoying being back in to this :)

Re: KK's first HAED - Snow Princess and the Polar Bear

Woo, an update! More blue than ever, of course, but some definite background sky texture is developing :whoop:

I'm now at 4800 stitches, just over half of the first page done. One stitch at a time...

Re: KK's first HAED - Snow Princess and the Polar Bear

It's back! This has been in storage for over a year while I've worked on other projects (largely wedding and anniversary samplers for people) but recently I've been able to get it out again! Having got through the first half of the first page, there is still a strong theme of blue going on... http:/...

Re: Sad and Happy (for stitchers) news

This is such a generous offer. I'm sorry you're finding stitching a struggle and hope you find something that suits you :) Have you tried crochet? I find that I concentrate very little when I'm doing crochet and let my hands do most of the work - but then, my skills extend about as far as a straight...

Re: Has the Postman brought you anything fun in 2014

Hidden on the armchair in the lounge this morning (thanks for that Mr Kitty!) I found some 14 count black aida for my nephew's 3rd birthday present :)

Re: *pokes head around the door* hi!

Wow I've missed this place! Thanks for the warm welcome back guys :) I need to make some sympathy cards right now - it's been a really crazy 24 hours - but will get HAED pictures up soon I promise! As ever it doesn't feel like I've made a lot of progress, but that's what happens with big projects...

Re: Looking for a quick "with sympathy" chart

Following a shockingly bad 24 hours, I find myself in the position of having to make another 3 of these.

Thank you again Kell for the beautiful design.

*pokes head around the door* hi!

Hi! I don't know if anyone here remembers me. I was a member a while ago but then for all sorts of "too much going on" reasons I went on hiatus a bit, from stitching, from the forum, from other parts of life while I got things in order. I've still been stitching while I've been away, to be...

Have a look at this, all free Christmas charts, various sizes but some at least will be the sort of size you're looking for :)

Re: Christmas afghan all finished!

It is lovely to have it finished - and it was lovely to have it when I was stitching it in the cold weather, to keep my toes warm! It's a Lady Elizabeth afghan, from Charles Craft - I bought it from Wimblebees last year in their closing down sale last year. The little hedgehog has proved very popula...

Christmas afghan all finished!

I started stitching a Christmas-themed afghan late last year. I put it aside when we entered 2011 because it felt so very wrong working on something Christmas-themed when we were just in to a new year! I picked it up again at the beginning of this month and have just this weekend finished it. I’m ab...

Re: Looking for a quick "with sympathy" chart

I found some little labels that I forgot I had in my card making stash which have sorted it out nicely.

This is stitched on 28 count hand-dyed evenweave, in Anchor 1302.

It'll be heading off in the post tomorrow.

Re: Looking for a quick "with sympathy" chart

A lily would be just right I think - I'm not religious (and don't think they are), so wouldn't feel quite "right" about doing a cross, it feels almost like I'm using the symbol under false pretences. Thank you Kell that lily is beautiful, I'll start on it right now!

Looking for a quick "with sympathy" chart

My aunt's elderly mother sadly passed away yesterday morning. She'd had a fall at home last weekend and sustained a brain injury which they knew she would not recover from. She was comfortable and at peace when she passed, and with family. I didn't know her well, my mother's brother married her daug...

Re: Don't understand how she does it

I don't really get on well with multiple WIPs, as with Trylla if I work on several projects at once I feel like I'm forever stitching but not getting anywhere! At the moment my HAED has been put aside for a little while so I can finish my Christmas afghan in time for this Christmas (pictures will be...

Re: Christmas Ideas [Advice?]

I often make some Christmas presents, and they're always really well received! A few examples of the gifts I've made... - Snoopy and Woodstock keyrings, for my brother and his girlfriend - Coasters for everyone - each couple gets one each, with their names on them (first letter in fancy full cross s...
