Re: Quick daily posts

I'm just finishing the last few stitches to an easy WIP! It's only two colours, stamped canvas hahah. Almost feel like it's cheating! It's a Chinese character 福 (pronounced fu) which means good fortune, blessings, that kind of thing. It's a good word! Red canvas, black calligraphy with a bright yell...

Re: What’s for Dinner

I only had jam and bread and chamomile tea  Mostly because I've had a long, stressful couple of weeks and today was no exception. I have been getting home late and then just did not want to make anything! Unfortunately one of my cats (I have 3), is sick and needs daily injections for 3 months!!...

Re: Floss Storage

I literally just tie mine into bows and shove them into a plastic zip bag...
It's a habit I haven't gotten out of for years!

That my cats stay away from me and don't try to catch the thread!! It's happened a few times... :x

Re: Recently completed projects.

Oh, thank you for the advice, I will have a look at that site later. I also noticed that annoying logo!!! Such a shame! My personal favourite is the Chinese New Year god (he has a name but can never remember... ). He's big, about one metre! Took several months to complete. Plus I LOVE LOVE LO...

Re: Recently completed projects.

Thank you! These have been over the last 4 years I think. I always start a new one as soon as I've finished one.
Now I've just started one with cats. But this one is quite hard, got to mix different colour threads! Never done that before!

Aaaah, finally figured out how to post them! Sorry about the upside-down ones. No idea how to put them the right way round!
Literally just finished the mermaid one last night.
Last photo is a close up of the Chinese god's beaded hat! Kept finding beads in strange places for days afterwards!!

Recently completed projects.

Hi everyone! I realised the other day that I hadn't logged-on for several YEARS! Been busy! Always enough time for stitching, however! Here are projects I have finished over the last few years. Not sure if the link works, though! (I just uploaded pics onto photobucket but can't see any image code). ...

Re: How to serve milk in tea a controversy?

As a Brit, I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS add the milk last! If not then it'l either be too weak or too strong. I do the same with my morning coffee.
:tea: :D
Speaking of tea... I'm off to put the kettle on!

Re: Feeling very stupid

I once sold on old netbook on gumtree.com. A guy in Nigeria answered and was asking a lot of questions about it. It seemed really genuine and I was pleased to get rid of it and he was happy to pay the postage fees etc. So, he sent the payment via paypal. The e-mail was really genuine looking. I shou...

Re: Avatar name?

Hi everyone! Been offline for months but still stitching! My name is the name of one of my beloved cats (now been dead and buried on the garden for many years). 57 is my lucky number. I see it all the time. Every time I check the time, on random cars driving past, any time I randomly see a number, i...

Re: Where's your stitching place?

:) My cats are having some readjustment issues at the moment on my stitch space. As I'm leaving in a few months, I've started being over organised and trying to sell as much as my stuff as possible- that means the sofa cushions, too. Kitties liked those pillows! So did I actually... !

Re: Where's your stitching place?

Interesting how we all have our own space just for this! I'm quite impressed by all the "bits" you all have. Apart from threads and chart, I just have a pencil and mini pair of scissors! I don't use anything else. maybe I'm still in the beginners stages!

Where's your stitching place?

I realised that I can only stitch on the sofa. I have a coffee table in front of me, where I can put everything I need around me, and also my computer where I always put on a film at the same time. Cup of tea also easily within reach. Cats next to me and comfy enough for them not to disturb me too m...

Re: What's your dream job?

I also wanted to become an archaeologist!! Strange! I also had the odd mini fantasy of selling made stitches- apparently here in China a lot of people buy them made and are willing to pay quite a bit for it. I'm not sure I would have the time and I'd feel sad giving them away after working so many h...
