Why cross-stitch?
In today’s society of hustle and bustle, cross stitching has become something of an anachronism. Why are we still addicted to it? As for me, cross stitching provides a rather easy solution to clearing your mind. When you’re focused on matching colors and following a pattern, bills, family problems a...

Re: Computer Generated Patterns
50 colors is absolutely enough. But the danger with computer generated patterns is that the floss colors will not match the picture colors. If you want to start some large project, try to stitch something small from the same author. (To be sure that what you see is what you get).

Stitching on the plane
I'm going to Europe in march, and i was wondering what I could do on an airplane that wouldn't involve scissors, sewing needles, or anything that isn't permitted on an airplane. I really want to stitch(it's a 6 hour flight), but I don't know if I would be allowed to bring needles with me. Do you hav...

Signing your project
Do you sign your work? How do you think - whether the signature should be same everywhere or it should match each specific project?

How do you carry your WIP?
I used to have a very good carry bag for my WIP. But it started to get old, zipper broke and the plastic sheets to put cardboard bobbins in started to split.

Cross stitching with silk floss
I know silk floss can be quite expensive, but has anyone tried to stitch some areas in silk and others in cotton on the same design? I would like to hear your feedback. Also, is silk floss more of an embroidery thing than a cross stitch one?

Hand Dyed Fabrics
Peeking around various spots on the internet, I seem to be coming across more and more hand-dyed cross stitch fabrics. They are gorgeous, usually mixing two or three colors, and (to me at least) horribly expensive-- especially when you start tacking shipping and handling. I would like the groups opi...
Framing
Just a simple question. Do you all do your own framing or send it to a professional? I have been doing my own but want to know what you all do. If you do your own and the frame has a glass do you use it to protect the finished piece or do you just use the frame without the glass?
