Re: Knitting Socks
I have been knitting socks for years. They are my favorite things to knit! Welcome to the club! As far as your pattern, maybe all it needs is just a few more stitches and an increase in overall length. Remember socks are supposed to be stretchy so don't go crazy adding too many stitches or inches. I...

Re: Which is the best cross stitch magazine?
I too am addicted to magazines. I love looking through them just for inspiration and am not bothered if I never make a project out of them! My hobby is for fun and if only looking is fun for me I don't feel guilty! I do like the Crossstitcher magazine and the Cross Stitch Collection. I have even mad...

Re: Suggestions for a Newbie!!
I'm a newbie and just this morning I was stitching and trying to figure out what to do with the confetti stitches in my piece. I looked on here and read about the loop method. What a find! Now those lonely stitches aren't so scary! Thanks a bunch!

Re: How do you organize your floss?
This is so helpful to me as a newbie. So far I've only done kits. I've been trying to reteach myself cross stitching. I think I will try the plastic bobbins storage system when I start gathering a stash.

Re: how did you start?
My mom taught me when I was about 9 I think. She was working on a cross stitch project on black aida (which she still hasn't finished heehee) and I loved watching her. She bought me a small kit of a black cat and I finished it and even figured out how to make up an alphabet font and stitched my name...

Warm welcome
Thanks for the warm welcome! I need it here in Iowa as the weather has been below zero for days now... I work in our schools and they have been canceled so I've gotten lots of stitching in as well as my other hobbies. As far as projects, I like landscapes and would love to do a large one for over my...

Hello from Iowa!
Hi! I am lydia from Des Moines, Iowa. I have recently gotten back into cross stitch after a long break. I learned as a child from my mother. I remember making small projects and decorating my room with them. I am excited to jump in and get stitching!
