Fake Millennium Stand

I've been looking for a cross stitch floor stand, but didn't find any that I liked. I happen to watch a youtube video that demonstrated the Millennium stand and loved it. I went on line and found it. I thought it was a bit pricey for the amount if stitching that I have done so far. I came up with an...

Re: Tips when travelling?

I use a "cross stitch" purse. I have a fairly large purse that I use just for my cross stitching on the go. It has 3 sections (one zipper part and two side pockets). In the zipper section, I have: WIP, clipboard, and hoop. I keep my cross stitch wip (either in a ziploc bag or its' plastic ...

Re: DMC Gold Floss

I may have a solution for you.

The pattern I am working on now calls for DMC Gold Metallic Floss. I tried working with it and hated it.

So, I went to Michael's and bought a satin floss in its place. I bought S3820.

I hope this helps.

Re: Frame for a longer (vs taller) project?

Okay. Here's my two cents worth. :D Have you tried replacing your scroll rods with the same size dowel rods? That is what I am going to do when I start my HAED design. My pattern is too large for a hoop. I don't have Q snaps, but I have a scroll frame. Unfortunately, my rods are not wide enough. I m...

Re: Aida vs. linen?

Next question.

Would I use one or two threads for 18ct or 22 ct?

Maggie. . . .I know. . .I wouldn't say it's a quick stitch either! :) More like a life time stitch!! :D

Aida vs. linen?

Okay, I'm going to start my first HAED cross stitch project. . . .Mad Hatter by Hannah Lynn. My goal is to get it done for Christmas so that I can give it to my daughter as one of her presents. I've only stitched on 14 ct Aida. If I were to do this project on 14 ct, it would be HUGE! I'm thinking of...

Re: Hello from New York

Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. I finished stitching my family tree project. Now I just have to frame them. Once they are done, I will take a picture and post it. I have two projects lined up now. 1. Home for the Holidays--An Amish picture. A Christmas present to be given hopeful...

Re: Hello from New York

Thank you for the welcome.

My family tree cross stitch project has been a "portable" project. 75% of it was done while waiting for my husband's eye treatments to be done. . . . .hours at a time!

I'll post pictures of it when I'm done.

Hello, I know I'm a little late in the game, but I have the same Brother sewing machine as you do! :) I love mine; however, I had problems with it in the beginning. Here's my story: It was crunch time and I needed to finish sewing my daughter's long gown for a performance. My old Brother sewing mach...

Hello from New York

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself. I live in the upper eastern part of New York. I am a wife, mother, and nurse. I love anything that involves a needle and thread. I guess you could say I'm a Jill of all trades, but a master of none. I like to sew, cross-stitch, crochet, and knit. Right now I'm in...
