Similar to Joan Elliott

I love Joan Elliott's designs but I'm wondering if there are any other artists that are similar to her style. TIA

Re: I Can't Backstitch!!!!

I hate back stitching it's a pain I never do it the way pattern says to. I literally ignore the chart and look at the finished picture and just try to make it look like that. I don't care as long as it's close to whats intended. Any way as long as the finished project looks okay no one else will car...

Getting fuzzy left overs out?

I just had to take out some black stitches, and I seem to have a lot of fuzzy black residue left in my white Aida cloth. It's in a really visible place. Are there any tips or tricks that you know that might help me?
TIA

I have another confession, I don't care how much cat hair I stitch into a project.

I'm really getting close to finishing! I had to take out a bit a few days ago, but I'm happy I got it out so I don't have to work around it now.

Re: Cleaning a finshed cross stitch+

No smokers here. The project has been washed, it's even in a frame. As to how old it is, I think it's 5-7 years old? I started it then packed it away for a while, then finished it off last year. I not even sure I'm using the same brand of Aida, I doubt it. I remember searching for white 18 count bef...

Re: Neat backs?

I was just curious to see a really neat back. I could find any images in Google, so I asked here. I'm really not at all worried about my backs as long as they aren't too lumpy. :)

Cleaning a finshed cross stitch+

I have a finished project that the white Aida cloth has turned cream, it used to be bright white. Is there anything I can do about this? I'm wondering because I have two more in the series to do, I'm almost done with the second and I compared them yesterday when showing them to my mom. Now I'm worri...

Neat backs?

Does any body have a picture or an example of a really neat back? I'm not really concerned too much about keeping my backs neat but, I'd like to see what a neat back side looks like.

Re: How do you organize your floss?

I'm loving hearing about everyone different storage systems. There are some really cool things out there, but I'm not even tempted to abandon my bobbins. They just make sense to me, and they take up so little space. I guess I was meant to be a bobbin girl. :-)

Re: how did you start?

I love so many of you started so young! When i was in my early 20's I decided I wanted to learn to cross stitch, so I ordered a complex kit out of catalog of St George and the Dragon. I taught myself how to cross stitch, that first project I had no idea what I was doing, my stitches went every direc...

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

My turn I guess, I love this thread. :) I do all the bad things lick thread, messy backs, leave the project on the hoop forever, ect. I will stitch over other stitches if I find I made a counting error. I thought I invented this. lol I uh, don't really have a stash. I just have two boxes of DMC flos...

Re: Following charts

When I used to work from kits I'd try to mark off with a highlighter, but it became more of hassle for me. I changed to cutting up the chart in manageable sections that I could hold and stitch at the same time. Lately I've been working from charts in books, books are hard for me to work out. I scan ...
