YLI Silk Ribbon?
Good morning, fellow stitchers! I succumbed to the "New Start Bug" and began a Mirabilia pattern ("English Roses"). One of the features of the design is silk ribbon roses/flowers around the portrait of the woman. The pattern calls for four colors of Y.L.I. Silk Ribbon (4mm and 2m...

Re: WIP Storage!
I store my wips in ziploc bags and they reside in a decorative box (that matches my living room decor) that I purchased on sale from a craft store. I also purchased a smaller box that matches the big box and I keep all my notions in there when I'm not actively using them...or when guests are coming ...

Re: Messy backs
The backs of my pieces are horribly messy as well...I tend to cross-country stitch so I often have threads all over the place. Even my attempts at parking result in a messy back as well. I've resigned myself to the fact that the backs of my pieces will probably always be messy. 8) I have heard of th...

Re: Do you cross stitch in the car?
And...I'm back from camp! Slightly exhausted and whatnot, but none the worse for the wear. Thank you for all the feedback...I meant to post a "thank you" before I left, but things just got too crazy with camp prep. I tried out car-stitching and it worked great. I don't get motion sickness,...

Do you cross stitch in the car?
In a few days my husband and I (and a couple more adults) are taking a group of middle and high school students to summer camp. I'm not stressed at all... Ok, I lied, I'm really stressed. But, I'm sure it will work out fine. That said, the drive to camp is 6+ hours...14 of us in a 15 passeng...

Re: Has the Postman brought you anything fun in 2014
May sound boring, but my Q Snaps arrived in the mail this week and I'm irrationally excited - haven't used them before and am looking to make the move away from hoops (especially for my larger projects). Looking forward to trying them out!

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher
Hmmm....let's see.... - I've only *just* (as in last week) started using needle minders and as a result have lost several needles....in my couch. I've searched and searched and searched...vacuumed the cushions/backing...taken everything apart and put it back together again with no luck. So, that mak...

Re: how did you start?
My mom, who is an avid cross stitcher, taught me and my sister as young children. I took some time off from stitching during college and grad school, but jumped back in once I entered the work force - I found it to be such a stress reliever!

Re: Review sites you've ordered from
I've ordered from: - Herrschners...found them to have a solid selection of patterns/fabric/etc *if* a little on the pricey side compared to other sites out there - 123Stitch...great site! I've ordered a good bit from them and have always had great success with them. - Everything CrossStitch...won't ...

Re: How many at a time?
Since the DH and I are planning to pack up house and move within the month, I will give two scenarios, lol. Usually (ie. I'm employed and life is "normal") I work on one WIP for a week or two then switch off to another so I don't get bored. And then after a few months I'll get the bug to e...

Howdy, y'all!
Good morning! I'm new to the forum, so I wanted to briefly say "hi" and introduce myself. My name is Share and (if you can't tell from the post's subject line) I am a Californian currently living in Deep South, USA. I've been cross stitching since grade school thanks to my mom...cross stit...
