Making a pattern using graph paper

Any hints for making my own pattern using graph paper? I'm not satisfied with anything I'm finding on the market for ' Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without'. I have graph paper for 14 ct. I would like for the finished size to be no larger than a regular sheet of paper, with a 2-3 inch bo...

That little bird is darling!

Hope Basil feels better soon. It might be a comfort to have Tuppy near. That's sweet. Who says dogs and cats can't get along?

Re: 2017 Deliveries & New Stash Acquisitions

PattyMac, would you mind sharing which Etsy shop you bought this from? I love that it has a chart holder! Very nice.

Mabel, it's so nice to be able to see, isn't it? It ought to make stitching easier for you!

Newspaper would help, too, cut to cover the inside of your floss keeper. We use that after hurricanes to get odors out of things with water damage and/or things that have been closed up for awhile with no electricity on, like refrigerators.

Re: 2016 Deliveries and New Stash Acquisitions

Over the Thanksgiving break, the family and I visited multiple thrift stores and flea markets. I was able to add 116 skeins of floss on bobbins and 4 booklets all for about $10.75!

Re: Leisure art patterns

You may want to try Cobweb Corner, too. They have lots of older patterns. Cross Stitch Stash is another source for older patterns.

So far, I am a one wip at a time girl. I hope to stay that way, but I do have three projects kitted up and ready.

Re: 2016 Deliveries and New Stash Acquisitions

I was at a flea market with my husband this weekend and found a Edmunds Sit-on Needlework frame complete in the box for a $1.00! Made my weekend. You just never know what you'll find!

Re: How do you transport WIPs while on-the-go?

I have a satchel I bought at a thrift store and in it goes the bobbin box(floss, scissors, needles attached to magnetic tape, and a needle threader). My project on a hoop or Qsnap with needle minder attached goes into a zip top bag and then into the satchel.

That owl is beautiful! I'm thinking of ordering one for myself for Christmas. I'm currently waiting on my first Q-snap(an 11 x 11) and a Cross Stitch gauge. I've always used a hoop, so I'm anxious to see the difference.

Re: Where do you buy patterns online?

I get free patterns from Daily Cross Stitch or Pinterest, then I buy the fabric and floss to do the work.

Re: Cats

We have three cats and a yellow Lab mix(Daisy). The cats are Grafitti(Black with a little white), Ambri(solid black with a smoke undercoat-she is a purebred Maine Coon) and our only boy, Sylvester is a tuxedo cat, who enchanted me at a gas station when I went in to pay! Dear husband named him before...
