Re: Samurai WIP Updated July 28th!

Only a small update. Life gets in the way sometimes! Still hoping to have everything but backstitch done by the end of the year, I hope :tizzy:

Re: Samurai WIP Updated July 28th!

Finally an update! I was busy moving (again)! New apartment and now I have all my cross stitch stuff together again. Not only that but I'm pretty close to finishing this guy finally - it's been over a year, with far too many distractions. Hopefully I will have him finished in another month or so. ht...

Re: The Ionian Mission - Geoff Hunt - Updated 5/20/16

What majesty - this will be a true treasure once it's finished! HAED is always an adventure, good luck!

Also I like the ideas that people give me throughout this forum - the shortcut to the latest update is a very useful thing to have so I will have to figure that out too! Thanks! :D

Re: Dimensions - Silent Flight - Updated May 22, 2016

What ambition! I love this design and have it myself, definitely on the list down the line! I also love to see the different ways people tackle their projects, everyone is so different. The sky looks amazing in this one but I would have started with the eagle; I don't know how you've not tempted see...

Re: Samurai WIP Updated May 2nd!

A stroke of gold luck! About a month and a half ago I moved and couldn't find my gold thread. I thought it lost and the worst part is I couldn't remember what kind of Krenik (number) it was. I looked for a replacement and hadnt been able to match my old thread. Well, spring cleaning works wonders as...

Re: Samurai WIP Updated March 16!

Thanks for all the support! I really mean that, guys. I have been having some trouble trying to get more of him done lately - new job for the last month has made me pretty stressed out so this helps a lot! Also I am working on a Mother's Day gift. Oh how I wish there was about 24 more hours in a day...

Re: Samurai WIP Updated Feb 19th!

4 seasons of Prison Break later and I've completed a huge milestone! Also a bit of a random question but do you guys have a specific needle company or type you use for your sharp companions? I realized I really prefer a size 24 needle but after a short while the cheap needles I use get that shiny co...

Re: Samurai WIP Updated Feb 19th!

Thanks for all the support you guys! I work on this guy every day now he's great fun. I think the Navy did not work out for a reason, so I'm glad everything worked out the way it did. I am still trying to get to Japan. My application for the JET program was not accepted for an interview so I'm tryin...

Re: Samurai WIP Updated Febrauary 17th, 2016

It's a good thing I save all my pictures then! I'll just give a bit of a chain update then. Sorry for all the lighting fail on some of the earlier ones, it all depends on if I take the pictures at night or day and such. Also some of the earlier ones seem to be out of order a bit, oops. The last one ...

I love this. I always admired blackwork and whitework, but the subtlety of adding just the colored subject is truly amazing. This is an amazing pattern too, where do you find it and others like it?

Re: Girl with a pearl earring

I couldn't believe that first post where you said that was all in a day's work, so amazing and it looks so fast! Usually I look down after a few hours and hardly have a section done - but it's all rewarding nonetheless; this is coming along and I can't wait to see her face :D

Re: Northern Expression's Twisted Rainbow-updated Nov. 21st.

Those eyelets are just amazing! I remember trying to figure those out on a biscornu and it just didn't look right until I figured out I had to pull on the fabric to get the desired effect - very fun to work!

Re: Christmas SAL

Christmas is fast approaching and this is all I can say for progress - sometimes there are so many distractions! I really must focus a bit more https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aJ4nQ1sGbLQ/VlD6ETuGkUI/AAAAAAAAAMM/spG6JVDcIJI/s320/owl2.jpg Here is a closeup of the DMC Metallic in the owl - I was tempted to...

Re: Christmas SAL

Both are lovely, but I really like the angel especially. What pattern is it? Maybe I missed that info. I'm awfully tired today. I'm one of those oddballs who prefers the DMC metallics The angel is a set titled "Glad Tidings Ornaments" but I cannot find it online in a quick search and it i...

Re: Metallic Threads

I think there's a very strong consensus on Rainbow Gallery's Petite Treasure Braid...and thankfully ABCStitchTherapy sells it by the bucketful by the looks of it. Kreinik can be good, I have used it on some projects and loved it - but that tends to be the thinnest blending filament kind that is very...

Re: Christmas SAL

There is no way I'll survive 4 of these with 102c/002c 11M mainly used for the wings...it is so thick that the cotton DMC tends to fail to come through during a stitch. I will have to look at the alternatives you mentioned; thank you!
