Finally an update! I was busy moving (again)! New apartment and now I have all my cross stitch stuff together again. Those eyelets are just amazing! I remember trying to figure those out on a biscornu and it just didn't look right until I figured out I had to pull on the fabric to get the desired effect - very fun to work!

There is no way I'll survive 4 of these with 102c/002c 11M mainly used for the wings...it is so thick that the cotton DMC tends to fail to come through during a stitch. I will have to look at the alternatives you mentioned; thank you!
