Re: UFO finished!

Serinde, you're spot on about the Hebrideans - lovely people, but they didn't seem to share any sense of nation with my husband who is from Scotland's North East! :D

Re: UFO finished!

Thank you everyone, that is really encouraging as it's the most complicated pattern I've ever followed! I found a very nice frame for it for £2 at a charity shop, I was very pleased with that find. Richard, that is so awful to hear of your experiences in Scotland, that is totally unacceptable but I...

UFO finished!

I hope this photo upload works... I managed to get a 12 year UFO of the Isle of Lewis Callanish stone circle finished this summer, it needs an iron and I'm not an expert stitcher so it's not expertly done! I meant to post this a while ago, life has managed to get in the way but I've just returned fr...

Re: Dracolair Norse Rune Sampler chart wanted

a store that sells both embroidery floss AND undies? Cool. :-) You just never know when you might need both. @rotfl: Thanks Allyn for the website details for Teresa Wentzler - I love those Celtic knotwork bookmarks. Embroidery supplies and undies must be a Mediterranean thing, Wendy! Another odd co...

Re: Hi!

Thanks Lavenderbee and Carole, though what I asked was which thread to post them on - however the info you posted was extremely useful! So, I take it that I can't just upload them from My Pictures, but I need to upload them somewhere else first?

Re: Hi!

Just a quick question - I did promise to post pics of the things that I've recently completed, which is the best thread to do this please?

Re: Dracolair Norse Rune Sampler chart wanted

Oooh, I've never heard of TWentzler before, I'll have to check that out... I've just been up to Florence for the weekend and got about half of the threads that I need, at a lovely old-fashioned 'merceria' that's been a family business since 1895 and has everything in wooden drawers! I paid a bit mor...

Re: Dracolair Norse Rune Sampler chart wanted

I'm glad you found it (and your're right - Allyn is a star!). I hope you'll share your progress with us - it's a unique and stunning design. I will do! I've just had my despatch notification - I'm so relieved, I was dreading another 'out of stock, you'll get a refund' email. If anyone wants this ch...

Re: Dracolair Norse Rune Sampler chart wanted

Thank you so much Allyn - I've just ordered it, and it was half the price (even with shipping to Italy) of the one that I ordered that ended up being out of stock! You're a star!

Thanks also Anaya for the Ebay suggestion, but I had no luck there.

Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome - I'm a bit snowed under here for a week or so, but once things have settled down I'll get round to posting some pics.

Dracolair Norse Rune Sampler chart wanted

I'm heartbroken - I hunted far and wide for this on the net two days ago and found just one seller in the US with this chart listed, and got a refund email today to say sorry, it's out of stock and discontinued! If anyone has this chart and no longer needs it, please PM me. Thanks!

Re: Forum update. Trade/Sell. New Rules.

Thanks, its something we've discussed a lot and I think this is a good all round solution. Yes, someone sending free charts to other members is fine, thats not a problem. If no money is changing hands then its not an issue. I have a question about this - is it acceptable to offer to pay postage cos...

Re: Hi!

 Hi Jackie and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! I am sorry that you lost your mother, but what a wonderful gift she left for you. What types of projects do you like to stitch? I hope you will post pictures for us to see. We love pictures! Looking forward to getting to know you. Carol...

Hi!

Hi everyone, I've been cross-stitching on and off for a few years, as well as knitting and dressmaking. I'm nowhere near as expert as my mum, who made some beautiful stuff. The back of her work was always so neat, whereas mine - well, the less said the better. She's no longer with us but I was fortu...
