I have been cross stitching a piece of work for about 5 years now and the thread on my bobbins is looking dingy and dull, has anyone any ideas how to freshen them up again please.

Sorry if I or anyone else have asked before, what length do you cut your thread ? When I see pictures from other stitchers, ( usually where threads have been parked ) their thread seems very long.

How do you all finish your thread, with waste knots, leaving tails or some other way?

Extreme cross country is where you would stitch 1 colour at a time by doing maybe a full page (or more ) of all the chose symbols then using your second colour and doing all the symbols relating to that colour over all the page, then continuing with remainder of colours until page is done. How do you stitchers store your wips to keep your parked threads straight, and how long is your thread. When I get my wip out my parked threads are all kinky and curly.
