Re: Charity stitching for families of Sandy Hook victims

It's a lovely group - everyone is so supportive and sweet and some of the squares are finished already and looking gorgeous. Even my little boy, Xander (who is 4-y-o) wanted to help, so he's been sitting on my knee and pulling the needle through for me. His name is on one of the two squares I've sti...

Re: New Years day is going to be a difficult day

Allan Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking - brilliant book. I know many people (including myself!) who have quit using this book. I had no withdrawal symptoms or cravings at all using it. No patches or nicotine replacement of any kind. :)

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

Well, I've started work on stitching that commission, but I'm not really getting into it or getting any enjoyment from it at all. It took some time to finalise the design from the different elements she wanted included and she chose all my least favourites, which has resulted in a design which I'm s...

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

I've been taking a break from cross stitch, to be honest - I think I got burned out with all the things I had to get done to deadlines and found I was enjoying crochet more. Anyway, here are the last few pieces I did before my break: Here's the birth sampler I was commissioned to design and stitch: ...

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

Finally getting to do some stitching again - I have another commission! This time it's a family sampler. The customer asked for a "traditional" style ampler, but then went ahead and chose the least traditional style border I had designed - LOL! It's going to be on dark cream linen in dark ...

Re: Happy Birthday KELL!!!

Thank you so much for your kind birthday wishes!

Sorry I haven't been on the forum lately - I've not done any stitching at all for months (I've been getting heavily into crochet and been working on Xmas gifts using that and various other crafts).

I had a lovely birthday, thank you. :)

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

I've been so busy I've had no time to myself recently, but it's gonna get busier! Got to stitch that wedding sampler, then I have a birth sampler commission and a wedding sampler design commission to complete! Going to my Mum's with Xan next week so I'll be taking projects with me...

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

You could always try a ruffled headband instead though - short hair looks great in a headband. :)

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

:applesauce: that scrunchie is great. You are so imaginative and then turn your ideas into practical applications. I love that. Carole :.dance: I'd been thinking about doing something for my hair then I found http://meladorascreations-com.webs.com/doublecrochetscrunchie.htm and just HAD to try it o...

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

I made a quick little gift for myself - a ruffle scrunchie in green and yellow (check how that yellow edging matches my yellow nail varnish!). I'm always tying my hair up and I thought this would be a pretty accessory. I think I'll do a bunch of them in different colour combinations. :) http://img14...

And here's how my new afghan is coming along! I now have eight completed squares joined and you can begin to see how it's all going to come together. :)

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

And finally, a little bit of cross stitch - hurrah! Here's Carmen's birth sampler all framed up and ready to go with the blanket, a book (Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter) and a cuddly toy (Roo from Winnie the Pooh). The last two were chosen by Xander for his new cousin. :) http://img526.imageshack.us...

It's really thick and soft and cosy too - it's going to be such a warm, snuggly blanket! :)

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

I'm really looking forward to seeing it grow - I did 16 of the white rounds last night while I was watching the telly. I would have done more, but I was very tired and went to bed about 2 hours earlier than I usually do! With it being such a simple pattern, it'll be easy to work up the squares while...

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

Just started work on my own afghan. Did a practice square to develop the pattern and I'm quite happy with how it looks. This is the pattern I'm going with, although it'll be in white, light grey and dark grey, rather than white, pink and blue - LOL! I'm using a lovely aran wool/acrylic mix - the bal...

Re: Kell's Korner 2012

I crocheted a simple little cover for my tablet computer. The front is lime green, the back is tangerine, and the flap, edging and buttons are lemon. I didn't follow any pattern - I just did single crochet all the way till the pieces were large enough to cover the tablet, then crocheted them togethe...

I use KG Stitch, which is a free download programme (just google it and it'll come up). It's very simple to use and you get some great results. :)
