Re: Good stitching magazine?

Thank you all for your help. I picked up 'Stitch' in my local newsagent this morning, but haven't yet had time to have a good look at it. You've certainly given me ideas and I'll have a good look through them all to see if I like them. I bought myself a needle threader this week - I have terrible tr...

Good stitching magazine?

Hi everybody. I've resurrected my stitching things and dug out a baby sampler I intended to finish two years ago! Since then, my son and his wife have had another child, so, thankfully, there is room for two names on the sampler. It has wetted my appetite for more stitching and I wondered if anybody...

Re: Cross Stitcher's Ward 2013

Yes, indeed, it is time for the Awesome Tapestry. The exhibition itself opens on Tuesday, but the stitchers' preview is on Monday, in the aforementioned Edinburgh. Luckily we can hop on a train to take the strain. I went to the Harrogate Knitting and Stitching Show yesterday and sat next to two Sco...

Back again!

Hi everybody. Some of you may remember that I joined the forum quite a while ago, but haven't been on for some time. I've had a quick look through and it's lovely to still see names I remember. I haven't done any stitching for ages - mainly focusing on knitting socks and crocheting blankets - and I'...

Re: Carole's crochet - 28th Oct

I absolutely love that and the colours are gorgeous. :applesauce: Was it a crocodile stitch granny square on Ravelry and did you just extend the size? I've done some crochet work - mainly hats - and am working on a rainbow ripple blanket at the moment. But I'm always open to new ideas. :)

Re: Breaking up a long term relationship

Pleased your doctor took it all seriously and put you on sick leave, Agi and I hope the group therapy is a help. Take each day as it comes and try not to worry too much about work etc. Is there anybody you could talk to about any money worries? The most important thing at the moment is that you rega...

Re: Getting Motivated...

I sympathise, Natalee. I haven't stitched for about two years. However, in that time, I've taught myself to knit socks and hats, have learned to crochet (I've completed a baby blanket) - and now I've come back to stitching with new enthusiasm. Perhaps you've got a bit stale and need a different chal...

Re: Buying Q Snaps or equivalent in UK?

Just had to get back in touch with Sew and So, as I realised that the 11" x 11" frame was going to be too big for my present project! The order has already been sent - they're so quick - so I decided to keep it when it arrives and have ordered the 9" x 9" as well - which wi...

Re: Buying Q Snaps or equivalent in UK?

Thank you for all your comments. I've just ordered an 11" x 11" frame from Sew and So and am looking forward to it arriving already. The total measurement of the design I'm working on at the moment is approximately 15" x 6", so, hopefully, this frame will be a good size. Thank yo...

Re: Buying Q Snaps or equivalent in UK?

Thank you so much everybody. I think the 11 x 11 frame from Sew and So is the way to go. I've got a roller frame for the birth sampler, but am finding it a bit awkward. I think the snap frame will be a lot easier. I understand that, unlike hoops, the frame doesn't leave crease marks on the fabric. I...

Buying Q Snaps or equivalent in UK?

I'm thinking about buying some Q Snaps or the UK equivalent, so, having had a browse, I'd be interested to know what people think of the Plastic Snap Frames from Sew and So. Are there any others which are better in the UK? Secondly, what size should I go for? I don't stitch HAED, but do work on samp...

Re: Breaking up a long term relationship

So sorry to hear that things have not been going well for you, Agi. I agree with your boyfriend - look on it as the opening up of all sorts of possibilities. I sincerely hope you will begin to feel much better once you are no longer suffering from the stress you have encountered at school. Take care...

Re: Curious about threads

Have a look HERE .[/quote] Wow, I wish I'd found this shop earlier - I've bookmarked it, thank you, Kell. I've just bought some threads from The Happy Cross Stitcher at 61p each. However, the postage is free, which is good. I can't find the postage costs on the Across Town Stitching site - do you kn...

Hello from an oldie!

Hi everybody, Don't know if you remember me, but I haven't been on for a long, long time. I've been knitting - taught myself to knit socks - and learned to crochet, so haven't done any cross-stitching for ages. Our new grandchild is due in a couple of weeks, so I've been knitting/crocheting for him/...
