Re: What is your favorite brand of scissors?

1st choice: Dovo
2nd choice: Dovo
3rd choice: Dovo
4th.... you see where I'm going with this. Yes, Dovos are a bit expensive, by IMHO worth every penny and more. Super sharp, extremely fine points, buttery smooth action, subtle design cues allow comfortable, precision control.

Suggestions for selling an entire stitching stash as a lot?

I'm seriously considering giving up the hobby altogether. I wonder if there is a way to offer up everything stitching related as a single lot: charts, flosses, fibers, fabric, q-snaps, hoops, beads, needles, stitching bags, totes, tools, books, scissors and everything related. Any suggestions? Thank...

Re: Stitchbow Question

Guess I've been lucky. I've been using s/bs since they came out and never had a problem with them coming apart. I've always used my own binders as I had them on hand. I have on occasion had to clip the space between holes to fit the ring spacing. It's never been enough of an issue to make me stop us...

Re: Mounting help

Frankly, a lot of it depends on how much you want to invest. I assume you want this as an heirloom piece. If you want to go the high road, you can purchase an archivist's journal. They are 100% acid-free, including the boards and binding. You can mount your piece directly to the book itself w/o worr...

Popping in. Beautiful work y'all

Wish I could comment on all the beautiful work posted. Y'all keep up the great work. I just can't get into the stitching groove. I've got a ton of projects that need attention, but I just can't get with it. Hopefully, my stitching bug will come back soon. Until then, I'll just stitch vicariously thr...

Re: Shipping costs

Shipping costs have gotten outrageous everywhere. Unfortnately, it's the reality of rising costs on everything and mismanagement of services. It's beating the stuffing out of the secondary market across many hobbies. In my other hobby, scale modeling, we used to swap kits back and forth as much for ...

Beautiful work! Maybe fringe or tassel the bottom and do a traditional door hanger?

There's no such thing as too much home cooking and fuss from mom. :)

Prayers for both of you all those serving around the world. It's always difficult, but more so this time of year.

Quick check in

Sorry I haven't posted on all the great work you've been showing lately. Work has been a beast the last few weeks. Lots of technical issues to deal with. It doesn't help the the Christmas thievin' and beatin' season has started. At least the overtime will come in handy. Really beautiful updates and ...

Re: Metallic thread

Madeira metallics are so pretty, but such a pain with which to work. The thread heaven is great advice. When working with metallics I usually use as large of gauge needle that will work through the fabric. I've accumulated several needle threaders made for tapestry needles. I'll be glad to send you ...
