Well hello again

Hey all. It’s been a long time. Not sure who is still here. After 3 years of just stuffing my stitching in the bookcase I’ve finally taken it back out and tried to finish my tiger design by Paul James. Got to thinking about it cause I seen all the threads as we clear out our spare room to make room ...

Re: Corey's woodworking- *updated March,4,2016 Big News!!*

I also have this video of a shop stool that I made. http://youtu.be/Yh9r7LxKDhQ" target="_blank Plus I made this a couple weeks back but didn't get to make a video of it. It's a lidded bowl from a pine burl and its 4 1/2" by 4 1/2". A burl is basically an infection in the tree th...

Thank you for all the comments, really happy that people are enjoying the videos. I even find myself getting entranced when watching the videos for editing.

I finished to 600 grit, and now that you mentioned that I will make sure to say in future videos what I've sanded too.

Re: Corey's woodworking- *updated Nov.30th,2015*

Well I've been quite busy lately. Been working a lot on my lathe. Starting to experiment building other things as well. The most exciting news though is that I'm going to start a YouTube channel for people like me who have a passion but don't have a garage. I'm going to show how I make it work with ...

Re: Corey's woodworking- starting with a table

Just going to sneak in here and let you know what I've been up to. We bought a two floor condo in September. Busy setting that up. Slowly picking up my stitching again. I've converted the 6 ft by 6 ft storage closet into my personal "shop". I started out with the bench. Got it for about 75...

Corey's woodworking- *updated March,4,2016 Big News!!*

Well I haven't been stitching since it's gotten nice outside. But I figured I'd keep everyone updated on what I've been up to. Here is my first table that I've ever made. Just wanted to make something quick for the balcony. It measures 2 feet high by 1 foot wide by 1 foot deep. Poplar for the legs, ...

Very nice. I love the contrast with the ivory. Gives it a classy touch. And I'm so jealous you have a CNC machine. Lucky guy.

Re: My first box

Hey Richard. I have one small block plane and this new plane I got from Christmas called a router plane. It's really neat and look forward to trying it out. I plan on trying it on my second project. Going going to maybe try different joints next time too kind of like what you had suggested.

Thanks everyone. And although the gaps were a little wide the glue still held. Yay!

And for those asking I'm going to be using this as a pencil holder.

My first box

Well as some of you may know I do some woodworking as well as cross stitch. What i normally use is just a lathe (for those who don't know you can make baseball bats and spindles for railings and such on there) and the only other things I've done was some very basic things back in my first year of hi...

Re: Just Cross Stitch Magazine- A teensy bit irritated

I don't get magazine subscriptions, but when I do buy magazines I hate any type of the card as things that are stuck in. I find too when I get cross stitch magazines from the store I do get irritated when you see a totally unrelated ad. I think that in general was what put me off buying magazines in...

Re: OT- hello again

Maybe some pictures. And Richard the last count was at 45. And no the decision wasn't entered rapidly. We talked about it long ago and wanted to do it before March of this year but weren't exactly sure when. Just finalized on a specific date basically.

OT- hello again

Hi everyone. Just popped in to say hello. Haven't been here for a few months. Been busy with the holidays, then my fiancée and I decided to finally set the date, and we are getting married on February 19th. Exciting. So been busy finalizing everything. Small wedding of just under 50 so there's not ...

I'm going to look into the screws that you mentioned. Thanks. And yes it's true (never thought about it) that you can't really get nails back out.

And my compliments on the playroom. Looks like quite the task you undertook. How long did it take to do all that?

Re: OT - where there's a will, (and some charm) theres a way

Nice shop Richard. I'm Very envious. I think the fixed area im looking at should be about 3 or 4 feet long by about 2 feet deep. That's the size of the bench I've got. Luckily it has a shelf underneath. And a small set of drawers beside it. So only making small things but I'm looking forward to gett...

OT - where there's a will, (and some charm) theres a way

Hi everyone. Got some good news that I just have to share. My fiancée and I only have an apartment. So no power tools. But I have found a hand saw and a old hand plane that my dad has never used and has given. And with some luck I have convinced my fiancée to move the electric piano and store it i...
