Re: Where to buy

I also recommend 123 stitch. i go there when i cant find what i need anywhere else. they have a great selection and the shipping isnt too high. also Michael's and Joann Fabrics have some pretty basic kits for fairly cheap if you just want something to get you back in the swing of things. :)

Re: Im Frustrated and need your help!

So sorry you have run into this, truly sounds like a nightmare to be honest. I would simply measure off an inch of the fabric and count the holes --it could be 16 count or 18 count--and about the only way you can really find out is to measure and count. The only other idea I have is just to use you...

Im Frustrated and need your help!

Ok i got this pattern in the mail that i ordered online. Well its severely lacking in alot of things. It barely has a key. It has no stitch count and it doesnt tell me what count the Aida is that came with it. I plan on using this pattern again and again to make a certain thing and i want to be able...

Re: Breaking up a long term relationship

Im marri...

Re: More help needed. Does this look ok to you?

I think a frame of hearts or flowers (her fav kind if possible) would be pretty on the front of the card. then on the inside put the last two lines, 1 lone flower, and sign. :)

how does that sound?

Re: Pretty sure...

Yes, I could do that but there probably is the equivilant in the UK, it's just I haven't discovered what it is yet! I think though, I'll watch this and see how yours comes out and what you think of it and then if you feel it's fine without the backing, I'll give it try. I have my design and s...

Re: Pretty sure...

That's looking fab! :applesauce: :applesauce: Did you back the project in the end? I'll be following this with alot of interest. I've been unable to sort out the equivilent backing/stabiliser at the moment here in the UK, as used in U.S, but I hope it won't be too long before I can get started. :ap...

Re: Designing your own pattern

Design programs can be very helpful (for copying/pasting, rotating bits of design and so on), but really graph paper and writing/colouring utensils of your choice are all you need to get started! I've used both and have found that both have their pros and cons. For information about design programs...

Re: Pretty sure...

I have been able to find waste canvas in both Jo-ann's and also at Michael's. Also if you can not find it at your stores, Herschnerr's has it to order in a few different sizes. I use it often enough that I order it by the yard from an on-line store. I have not ordered in a long time but the last I ...

Re: Waste Canvas questions.

You do not HAVE to back it and no it does not really change the look of the pattern but it does give you a sturdier fabric to work with. You will have less pulling so that you will not get puckering, but if you are careful during stitching that is not a huge problem. T-shirts tend to stretch so the...

I didnt put anything behind it to back it as everything i read nothing mentioned it. can you back it when you...
