Re: Offe's SAL 2015 - 17 August
Thank you ladies for your support! I just finished this small castle that I have used as an escape from my other castle. A lot of gray!! I get slightly depressed whenever I stitch with gray. Also this design was really at learner level, with everything being square, kind of boring. But it turned out...

Re: What color thread?
Why not a dark purple for the lettering? Maybe yellow flowers. I like colors a lot, maybe too much. But you dont have to use the brightest yellow.

Re: Mounting and framing projects
Now I feel really stupid for framing in a ready-made frame without the proper tools. I just lace the piece to an acid free board and pop it in the frame. Most frames don't have a mat, so I frame without a mat. I don't think Swedes are all that big on mats anyway.

Re: Offe's SAL 2015 - 15 July
I have been on vacation, so I haven't stitched much, but the tree is finished. I will post a picture once it has been framed. I am working on the castle, oh so slowly. I feel that I don't belong in this forum, where projects are pages and pages, and here I am struggling with a 100x120. In between I ...

Re: Aida or Evenweave?
Evenweave looks nicer, but sometimes, especially with small and simple designs I like to use aida because it is easier. For cards and coasters I use aida because it is stiffer and will stay flat. I never found it difficult to stitch on evenweave, but I need to take more care while stitching to make ...

Re: Will someone please send my stitchy bug back
My bug was gone for at least a year recently. When I started to feel "I want to want to stitch" like you do now, I scheduled one hour of stitching a day. After a few forced session my stitchy bug came back. Maybe something that can help you too.

Re: Offe's SAL 2015 - 13 July
Here is an update of the tree, not only to let you see my progress, but also for me to vent my total anxiety while stitching this last part. I ran out of floss, and since I have bad experiences with differences in color between dye lots, I am now nervous that this will happen to the tree. I can't se...

Re: Offe's SAL 2015 - 7 July
A few years ago I posted here about a stand that I made out of cardboard to hold my scissors. I like to be able to easily grab my scissors. It was only a prototype, but I have been using it since. The reason I didn't make a nice final stand was that I didn't know how to make the hole for the scissor...

Re: Help needed - keeping track of working region within pat
I use a very small postit note to mark where I am currently working. I use the side to mark a row, and use a corner to mark a certain stitch. Sometimes I draw an arrow in the corner for extra clarity. This way I don't have to use a magnetic clipboard, I use a plastic one, which is lighter and more e...

Re: Offe's SAL 2015 - 7 July
A cover kit is a mini kit that is attached to the cover of a cross stitch magazine. I had a fun time with the castle and made enough progress to convince myself that I will be able to finish it one day. Last night I put a couple of threads into the tree and it felt good too. The memory of the froggi...

Re: Offe's SAL 2015 - 2 July
I made a stupid, stupid mistake on the tree, and had to rip out hours of work. I needed to get away from the tree for a while, so I am now stitching this castle. It was one of the first designs I fell in love with when I started stitching in the 90's. This is my second attempt at it. The first time ...

Re: Offe's SAL 2015 - 2 July
I wouldn't say the fabric is purple, the picture doesn't show the true color. It is wine red, or burgundy. Have a look here.
