Re: In the market for a Lowery stand

I have a Lowery, bought secondhand on Ebay, but no worse for it. Husbeast made me a long arm to go over our rather wide sofa arms, and I have a long frame adaptor for my 24" Milennium frame. Its fine, I just use some fabric under the clamp to prevent the stitches being crushed too much. You nee...

Re: Tapestry Frame

It is probably the sort that uses sticky tape to attach the fabric. Masking tape works reasonably well, and is repositionable.

Re: Threadworx from Sew&so

I have a friend who visits her mother in Florida several times a year. And she actually offers to bring stuff back, so its duty free and bought at US prices. Let me know if you need an intro. I'm going to the stitching exhibition in Paris with her in February. One of her friends will be bringing stu...

Re: OH Heck!! Away AGAIN!!! And I'm BAAAAAACK!!!

How lovely of the guest house people! If its still dragging on into February I'll be retired and could come and help for a bit. I do have stuff going on, but haven't properly filled my diary, so just need to lend out dogs and I could be yours. I am eternally grateful to the girlfriend who came and h...

He was claimed to be a chi x pom but is much bigger, all of six kilos so more likely chi x Finnish Spitz. Arrived as an emergency foster because he bit someone - entirely because he was mis-handled and not because he is in any way aggressive. He's just easily scared and will defend himself if he can...

Welcome!

I'm a Lurcher mum! Having a couch potato is very good for stitching, when they don't decide they need a walk! Unfortunately I am also kept by a small attention seeking Gremlin!

The bars are here!

I have heard a rumour that NN may be closing down. I'm going to phone and ask.

Yes, I was surprised because they look really solid. Apparently its the plastic bits that fail.

Re: Millennium frame with a Lowery stand

Hmmm, I'm not exactly filled with confidence here. On Tuesday it was ' a couple of days' and they still haven't taken the money from my card. On the other hand, in the frames and stands group people are talking about the Quantum not lasting too well. Decisions decisions..... And don't tell me I coul...

Re: Any help please...

And on the reindeer I would carry the thread across the back. In a case like this I would do them all at the end. It's marginal with those reindeer whether I would grid first (run threads at 10 stitch intervals both vertically and horizontally as guides) or not, but I do for all larger and more comp...

Re: Millennium frame with a Lowery stand

Well, I've spoken to them, and they say it will be posted 'in the next couple of days'!! He talked me out of the longer side arms, so I already have a set of the short ones, and into having bars only just long enough for my WIP. Extension arms for the Lowery are already in the post. I'm going to spe...

Re: Millennium frame with a Lowery stand

Well, I tried phoning today. No-one answering the phone on the three occasions I tried. I also looked the company up on Companies House, and it looks as if their liabilities far outstrip their assets. So cashflow looks like its the main cause of their stupid policy of not making enough to satisfy de...

Re: Millennium frame with a Lowery stand

Its not exactly a problem! More a meee wantiee thing!

If its going to be a year then I'll go Quantum and sell the stupidly big Millennium frame! That is just silly!

Re: Millennium frame with a Lowery stand

No, no NO!!!! The Millennium frame I have is the longest they make, but with only the short side pieces (it came as part of a package from Fleabay) so I thought i would treat myself to one the correct size for my WIP that will take me another year to finish. Then reading the site carefully I find th...

Millennium frame with a Lowery stand

OK, so I am dithering about selling the frame (not the stand, that will go) and wondering if instead it will fit on the Lowery with the extension bars. Anyone doing this? I was wondering if it would work with the very thick rollers that come on the Millennium.

Necessaire stand and Millennium Frame (and Stitchmaster)

I have a stand and 30" frame. The only thing that is slightly odd about them is that the arms for the floorstand were missing when I acquired it. Because Needle Needs never had them in stock I have used it with the arms from a stitchmaster without a problem. It wouldn't be difficult to make ano...

Re: Where to buy cheap supplies?

I'm assuming you are somewhere in the USA? It might be worth joining your local Freecycle group and asking on there - as well as watching the offers very, very closely! I have seen some quite nice stash offered over the years, and I live in quite a small town.
