Re: Hello Hello

Welcome from a fellow Torontonian - though I live in the east end, which seems to be a black hole when it comes to stitching stores *sad sigh* I hope you find a great place in Calgary :)

Re: Suggestions for a Newbie!!

For headaches, I use a technique that I was taught to avoid headaches when spending too much time at the computer - look up every few minutes. I usually do my stitching when sitting with my housemates as they are watching TV. I don't pay too much attention to what is on the tube, but it gives me som...

Re: Another New Member

Welcome Darlene :) I actually like stitching on black and have done quite a bit on it. I find that an OTT light works wonders when I can't have natural daylight. I honestly didn't think it would be that much different from other "craft/project" lights, but it is. Another thing that I find ...

Welcome to the forum :) I grew up travelling abroad (mostly around South America) because of my fathers job. It was hard sometime, the adjusting and whatnot, but when I look back, I am still amazed by the places I visited and the things I was able to experience and see - your kids are very lucky :) ...

Hi Tia,

I'm new here, but welcome back.

I know how difficult it can be when life gets overwhelming....sometimes stitching is the only thing that keeps me sane :)

Always remember to be gentle with yourself no matter what :)

Hi Lisa, Welcome to the forum. I'm new here too and have been blown away by how friendly everyone is :) My great grandfather was the one in my family who stitched and I have some of his framed work - its lovely, and what inspired me to start (I mean, how hard can it be to make little x's on canvas w...

Wow...thank you everyone for such a warm welcome! :) :) I know that I'm really going to enjoy it here :) Several of you asked what I am currently working on, so I'm going to answer here rather than post the same message over and over again if that's okay... :) I don't have photos of anything yet, so...

Re: Washing Finished Projects

Hello :) I always serge the edges of my canvas, so fraying has never been a problem :) As for washing, I have only ever hand-washed and I only use Orvus equine soap. It's always gotten everything out (even spots/stains that I thought would be there forever and ruin a piece) and it doesn't leave any ...

Hi there :) My name is Natasha and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I've been stitching for many, many years, but find I tend to stitch furiously for a while, move away from it for a while, and then start stitching furiously again. I love doing counted cross-stitch, and have discovered hand-dyed ...
