Re: Prewashing aida cloth

Interesting, thanks. But, please tell me, if it is super stiff, doesn't your thread get caught and possibly shred? Or your hands/arms get caught and scratched?
Maybe my fabric is especially stiff!

Prewashing aida cloth

I have a kit that I would like to get started on, but when I opened it the aida fabric was so stiff I could hardly manipulate it on to my q-snap! Do any of you pre-wash aida cloth? I'm concerned that it will shrink (which i would expect, but how much shrinkage?) and come out misshapen. Any help will...

Re: Devoted Soulmates First progress pic

I think any and all progress is fabulous, so great stitching! Although it may seem like an insignificant amount of progress now, it still seems great and ahead of the game!

Re: Another New Member

Hi Darlene, welcome to the forum. I'm so excited to see you stitching the Last Supper as this is the EXACT one I have got as a UFO too. I'm ashamed to say it's a 20 year old UFO  That is so funny! My booklet is dated 1986, and I too had not stitched on it for probably 15 years! I guess it mig...

Re: Another New Member

I know I haven't posted in quite a while, but here is where I am now. It seems as if it has taken so long, but the days just seem to fly by! I am 2/3 done! I'm so excited. I took the "advice" of others and am doing the back stitching as I finish each section, I love it, it seems to "f...

Re: Devoted Soulmates

What a lovely picture to do for your niece. I know she will treasure it! One question, though please. Why grid your fabric? I've seen others' projects underway and noticed that the fabric has been gridded (is that a word?) and wondered why and how this is done. Thanks for the information and.. good ...

Re: Tiffstitch's WIPs/Challenge 2011 (update 11/17/11)

I totally agree with Kim, due to the curved inside border, the back stitching seems unnecessary. Also agreeing with Kim, your stitching looks fabulous!

Re: Tiffstitch's WIPs/Challenge 2011 (update 11/17/11)

What a coincidence, my daughter said the same thing, get a book on CD (or whatever) as she does when she drives back and forth to come home (4 1/2 hour drive). I did find a book and listened while stitching, it made the time seem to go faster. I do have some time in the evenings for stitching, but a...

Re: Tiffstitch's WIPs/Challenge 2011 (update 11/17/11)

I agree, the border is stunning. Your stitching is awesome too! I continue to work at my Lord's Supper and have made decent progress. The table cloth has a lot of spaced stitches (kind of like confetti) and it is a hassle, but it looks super. I'll be posting an updated picture soon. I wish I devoted...

Re: My first HAED - A Long Winter's Nap -SAL

I am speechless! This is fantastic. I am pretty sure I would not have lasted as long as you have, coming so close to finishing in only a year.
I too have some difficulty parking threads, good to hear I'm not the only one!

Keep stitching and showing us how you get along.

Re: Kell's Korner 2011

They look great! Having lost a mom to breast cancer and a sister who beat it, I'm very interested and thankful for the donations for a cure! Thanks Kell! Okay, so here is my dumbness showing: what exactly is a biscornu? What do you do with it? Sorry to be so clueless, but I've been wondering for qui...

Welcome from Chicago.

I'm not entirely sure I really understand what "pixilated" exactly means, but I think your stitching looks great! I also think that when viewed from a bit of distance it will look very real-like.
