Re: OT Lots happening, good and not so good

Sorry to hear about your mum, but it sounds like she's in good hands. I'll pray for her and for you that you get through this with strength and comfort.

Jacket looks good on you!!! :) Great colors.

Glad you got some holiday scheduled in there, too. Take care.

Re: Joan Elliott's 2014 Mystery SAL

Oh, this is great! But WHERE did you learn of the SAL??? I've looked at all the places I thought the info would be, but didn't find out anything. Do you know if it is still open to join?

Thanks. I think I love it already!

Re: One Kit Only?

Thank you, Carole. I've pm'd you. You are too kind.

Looked at your gallery and all your work is just so beautiful! I'd like to do do a Betrix Potter afghan someday, but I can' t decide on which afghan to buy. What's your favorite?

Thanks,

Re: One Kit Only?

I've thought and thought about this. My mind changes every day! But I think I would choose "FlowerPower" - a CrossedWings Collections chart...

btw, Rose, that nativity is one of my favorites! If I could have TWO designs, then I get it, too!!! :)

Re: Do you keep a stitching journal?

I started a journal and kept up with it for about a year. It had start dates and finish dates and hours spent stitching each project. I kept it for a rotation schedule, too.

But now, :ratherbe: and don't feel the need to keep track of every little thing any more...

Re: any requests?

I really enjoy your designs, Amanda and am so excited you are on our forum. I'd like to see more designs for men (my man, of course -lol) He's in to tanks and army stuff. Perhaps there could be some designs along those lines??? And silly things like shoes and purses, and rings and hair bobs. Or some...

Re: knots (the good kind) - how do you?

I like french knots since I got my stitchy stand to hold the project! Haven't gotten the hang of colonials, tho. I go down just slightly above where I came up, with a tiny bit of fabric or floss between...

Re: Avatar name?

What a fun thread! I've really enjoyed learning about everyone's choices. I really couldn't think of anything all that special to use, so I chose DH's nickname for me. And because I'm not very computer savy, I just grabbed a pic already in my computer for my avatar. I have a heck of a time posting p...

Re: Question about Needle Sizes

As I've gotten older, my fingers are more clumsy and they numb out alot, so I find the size 24 to be perfect for all my fabric counts (14 - 28) and for my fingers to grasp. I use a magnetic "needle minder", too, to place my needles, so I don't drop them. (since it can be really hard to pic...

Re: How do you organize your blended threads?

I keep all my threads bobbined separately to start. Then I get a blank cardboard bobbin and wrap one strand of each color on it and write the color numbers and the symbol on the bobbin. (a strand is about 36") When I'm ready to use that blend, I pull a length of about 18" (or half a strand...

I'm glad you asked! I love sharing info on my MARK II floorstand. http://hearthsidecraftworks.com/" target="_blank" target="_blank I like that it's made of wood, so it looks like a nice piece of furniture. I like that it has a Qsnap adapter, as well as scroll rods. It's a bit pri...

Re: Has the Postman brought you anything fun in 2014

Haven't gotten them yet, but I ordered a new kit from 123stitch, some bohin needles and qsnaps, a magnetic needle minder. From another place, DH ordered me some Udderly Smooth hand cream, and I got that yesterday. He saw me reading the thread on hand creams and researched on his own. Wasn't that cut...

Hi! And welcome from southern California! It's nice to meet you. And congratulations on your first project. I just KNOW it's going to be amazing - for many reasons ... I just started stitching again about 2yrs ago, after no stitching for about 15yrs. I went through all the newbie "angst" a...

Re: Stands, Scroll Frames, Hoops, and Q Snaps? Oh My...

Hi, and welcome to the forum! I always stitched in hand until I joined this forum. I learned so very much here! I found qsnaps to be easier than hoops and the tension more even which gave my stitches a more even look, too. Once I used them, I never went back to inhand... As my projects got bigger, t...
