Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

I take a picture of my stitching on my cell phone before I go to bed from far away... so I can lay in bed and stare at it and compare it to the original picture and ensure it looks nice and flat and tidy from another perspective

Another page done! A daytime picture so you can actually see all of the colours :) This one is slow-going but I am hoping to get a lot done on it in the new year.

Re: So did Santa bring you anything nice?

My parents sent me 4 big pieces of 25 count lugana fabric in different colours, a DMC cone of 310, many bobbins, thread cases, a paring knife (they got me a new kitchen knife block and the first big knife for the set for my birthday) and mittens! I've never even seen 25-count before in person, but i...

Re: Dye Lots (DMC)

I am doing a very large project with over 9 skeins of 939 too! I hope nothing bad happens as I bought them all over the place :| However, 123stitch.com seems to have the cones for every colour of DMC in existence. I would link you to it but the site is down at the moment for me it seems :( I put a c...

Re: New HAED questions

I am new to HAEDs too! I am working on my second one now. You can use any type of fabric you want, just keep in mind that the smaller the number the fabric (14, 18) the larger the stitches, meaning the bigger the finished piece. So for example, my current project is 450 by 511 stitches. If I were to...

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

I'm back to this thread because I am procrastinating. 1. I have finally paid back my 1200$ overdraft that was mostly related to buying cross stitch and cross stitch accessories. Whoops. 2. I haven't had a day off in a month. I am a freelancer and I sort of have a steady work flow, so if I want time ...

Re: Heather's Sunflower Bee (HAED) - FINISHED. Pictures!

It is framed! I haven't seen the frame in person as it is in my mom's house 4 hours away. She took the piece home with her when she visited last and got it framed herself... frames are such a personal thing and it would be hanging in her house so we figured it would be best to have her pick one and ...

Done the top row! All day tomorrow and Sunday to work on it, yay! 45,000 some odd stitches. It's a little dark, sorry about that.

Re: HAED Universe In A Jar - Update Oct. 22, 2012

That looks fantastic!! Well done progressing. :applesauce: I feel your pain about work. I'm lucky if I get 20 stitches in a day on anything if it's a work day. I knoooow :( I am lucky enough to manage my own work schedule because I'm a freelancer... but I'm pretty bad at it and very overwhelmed wit...

Well the stones look ok to me.. With my HAED sometimes because I have my nose all up in it for long periods of time my perception of how things look sometimes get distorted.. Maybe that's the case here too? Wonderful work! Faith Thanks everyone! Yes, I think that is the case... they look much softe...

Re: HAED Universe In A Jar - Update Aug 13, 2012

Latest photo! This is going to be quite big... I've got the piece on the floor and am standing over it for this photo. I've also since completed that page and moved on to the last page on the row... once it's done I'll iron it and take a decent picture! I've been so busy with work and haven't really...

Re: HAED Universe In A Jar - Update Aug 13, 2012

Are the greys in the 645-648 range? I've always had problems with those numbers looking a little more thin or twisted than other colors. I don't know why and those colors seem to be in almost every pattern I do. Some are, yes! Those greenish greys.... basically all the greys (and pinks and greens) ...

Latest! Let me know if you can see it. (I am on the train and don't have enough internet power to upload to photobucket so I just copied from Facebook.... I brought my computer instead of my stitching to force myself to work except I'm not at all, I'm on here.) Almost done three pages! I am very hap...

Re: De-furring your stitching

I keep mine in a ziplock freezer bag in between stitching.... but my apartment is so dusty and full of pet hair that even after a few hours of stitching I've got hair on my threads (if I forget to close the box between switching colours) and on my fabric :(

OH MY HOLY HOUSEPANTS it's the slap/chop guy on the schticky's site! Have you seen this guy's infomercials? They're insane. Seriously, YouTube the infomercial for the slap/chop. It's...unintentionally hilarious. I know! He is ridiculous. I still love my shticky though. I also agree with you Carole ;)
