Re: It's been a while ...
Welcome back (with me! I think we had similar thoughts about the same time).
Honestly my blood pressure would have hit the roof being asked to fork over 14k in short order. Big whuf. I'm glad it's leveling out!

Re: So, I still exist. Hi. (Real life and XS)
Hi Gabrielle, The last 18 months has been a horrendous time for you wonderful people in the health services around the world and yes I'd heard that Idaho had been forced to go into crisis standards of care due to the Covid workload. If there was ever a time to go into lockdown and to not do anythin...

So, I still exist. Hi. (Real life and XS)
Well hello, it's been a while. I apparently haven't posted since August 2020 which sounds about right, because that's when just about everything at my job (hospital) went to hell. Yeah. It's been a lot. After 2.5 years, I've finally given up, secured a transfer back to my hospital's clinics and out ...
Re: Afghans
Mine was a Charles Craft, 100% acrylic, which has its good and bad points. I think I found it on ebay honestly.

You're all so sweet!
Re: Afghans
The "baby afghan" I did was indeed 80x80 for a 4x7 block arrangement. Is that considered standard or baby I wonder? I'm pretty sure that is standard. The only difference with a baby afghan is probably the total size, as Lyudmila said. Like everything else in cross stitching you can choose...
Re: Afghans
I have stitched a lot of afghans over the years. I started them because framing was so expensive and also because I would have a hard time deciding which chart I would want to stitch of a particular subject area. My afghans are mostly themed as I have given many as gifts. I usually would sort of &q...

Re: XStitch Minis!
She is! She's actually the first time I've ever stitched on Hardanger and I slightly regret doing 2 over 1. It was the only way to fit it into the 3" hoop but oof.

Re: XStitch Minis!
I need to update! I did a fair few more! Solaire (the little knight from Dark Souls 3) is made mostly in Etoile and Dragonair also has quite a bit of Etoile also. Unfortunately I can't ever get the sparkle to really show. https://i.postimg.cc/L5tRPML8/24.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/C5TSdKZ2/26.jpg http...
Afghans
So, I have completed one alphabet afghan as seen previously, and really enjoyed it (for the most part). I'm thinking of doing an animal one in the future, but the problem is most of my patterns I'd like to use are about 30x30 stitches wide, and the last blocked afghan I used, which I'd rate as an ea...

Re: What is absolutely essential for you when you stitch?
Mine might be a little more serious. Because of my position within the hospital, I come home with no energy, no life left with in me and a lot of mental relaxation and preparation over the weekend to be able to handle the next coming week... So with that being said, I need the energy, the good mind-...

Re: Confetti and changing thread
I'm going to be largely unhelpful, but I can't abide parking, and as for any confetti, I do one color as far as I can and only carry 3-4 stitches (3 for 14/16/28/32, 4 for higher...) and I secure and do another color. I have to agree the fun certainly ends when you start parking (for me, parking at ...

Re: XStitch Minis!
Very neat stitching. :applesauce: What do you do with minis when they are finished- frame? Or do you turn them into fridge magnets/broaches/keyrings? Well my little 3" hoops came in today so I framed them! Very cute! Are those glow-in-the-dark eyes on the racoon? 8) Almost. It's the neon satin...

Re: Crane in Winter
I did a good chunk of the light pink on the edges of the wing there, and started the very top of the piece and connected it over so I know mostly where to start from. This left side of the blue is almost where the page breaks on the pattern so I didn't want to break my brain tonight connecting left ...

Re: Crane in Winter
I have finished all of the snow! I can't backstitch this section however, because some of the wings come up against the snow, so it'll have to wait.

Re: Crane in Winter
https://pin.it/7sm5pU9 Yes I am guilty of this too. This was an old Margot de Paris France kit supplied with the DMC tapestry yarn skeins. But I worked with a basket weave stitch or a backstitch style tent stitch and of course ....ran out.... luckily I had a great stash of old British Anchor! https...
