Re: Cross stitched afghan update January 2019

Thank you. Regarding attachment, I did use a sewing machine and did a zigzag stitch on all the horizontal and vertical borders of all the squares. It was pretty tedious. I first pinned along all those borders, then sewed each row. You really can't see the zigzag stitching from the front, and the bac...

In response to the question on whether a nonmember can see the forum, if you're not logged in, you can read the forum, but have to be logged in to write any response. I know I come on here to read things, but only log on if I am going to say/ask something. My computer used to keep me logged on, but ...

Re: 3D Printing

Interesting. So I've heard of 3D printers but could never visualize what they could do.( I could have googled it ,I suppose , but wasn't that curious). Anyway, is everything made out of the same material, a type of plastic? And is it stiff or pliable? I was only picturing paper, and thought 'what go...

Re: OMG- freaking Out Here

As far as feeling old(er) at your children's milestones, there can also be good points. A lot of my friends became grandparents in their early 50's, and are working with many years ahead to be working yet and not much time to be able to spend with them. I just became a grandparent at 63/64 and had j...

Cross stitched afghan update January 2019

I plan on backing this with a piece of 100% cotton flannel, sewing it over the edges of this afghan and al...

Re: Chat thread

Thought I'd pop in since this is a totally unrelated stitching post. I just picked my daughter up from the airport; she just got done running a marathon in a game reserve in South Africa. Her goal is to run one on each continent. She's already done Asia (Great Wall of China marathon), South America ...

Re: Help! I can't say no!

I have a very close friend who said she wished I could stitch 'something ' for her. I just told her that I have 12 other projects all lined up that I plan on doing first, and by my calculations, it will take about 25 years. After stating those facts, the subject got dropped, and yet I didn't exactly...

Re: Too many wips

I was wondering about some of yours, I hadn't seen some in awhile. I have 5 on the go right now, with another one totally ready to go, but I just don't really want 6 going at the same time. These are all HAEDs, so nothing is going to be moving fast. I feel like 3 is the ideal number, maybe 4. I had ...

Re: Mini-Home is Where the Magic Is, HAED*update 8/6/2016

Are you aware of the HAED rewards program? You might be able to get one of those 6 new projects for free! Carole Actually, yes, I got one of my 6 charts free due to another one I had finished this spring, and had impatiently waited until the entry time. Now however I have enough charts for my lifeti...

Re: Gryff: AKA Coontastic Gryffindor Update 1 July 2016

Beautiful stitching!! In my own thread regarding my Bridal Bouquet, you had wondered how washing/ironing the opalescent fabric would go. It went great. I washed it in lukewarm water with a couple drops of dish washing liquid , rinsed well with cool water, and laid it flat to dry. When the unstitched...
