Re: Pattern Making Programs

Hi Daisly56 It's taken me years to realise I could have purchased a DMC shade card and saved myself a lot of heartache. This purchase was brought about by my having loads of older threads which I carelessly hadn't kept a record of the number. So I asked at my local hobbycraft shop and the kind knowl...

Re: * Custom Made Chart's *

Hello Michaela and welcome Your enquiry came through to my email address, but it is not me that converts the pictures, it is Skitzzz who, I'm sure will be happy to help. The program I purchased is PC Stitch which I downloaded and in general is very good, but as said before the colours will need a lo...

Re: Pattern Making Programs

Welcome stitchhitch, I'm sure as you look around you will find many threads to comment on and your 10 will soon be accomplished. And YES it's brilliant viewing all the wonderful work other stitchers have done. I'll warn you though, it can make you very jealous!

Re: Pattern Making Programs

Hello Solitaire I agree that you have to keep importing tweaked photo's. I've tried using a different scanned normal picture and the thread choices the software gives are still wrong. I was wondering if it was just photo's that came out abnormal colours. I emailed PC Stitch and their advice is that ...

Re: * Custom Made Chart's *

Hi Angelstitcher
I 'googled' qin qi shui hua pattern, and one reply stated there are 300 franchises of KS Stores in China. This site appeared to do nothing but oriental charts and kits. It might be a place to start.
Best of luck

Re: * Custom Made Chart's *

Hi Skitzzzz Having recently joined the forum I don't know how to do anything much, and an important one is 'how to pm you'. I've got 5 photo's that I'd love you to convert to charts for me. I've purchased PC Stitch 10 and just can't get colouring correct - either all too dark or weird thread colours...

WOW I'm absolutely blown away by all your fantastic work - I'm sitting in front of your galleries with my mouth dropped open in awe. I can hardly begin to see any shapes in my project yet, I'm so envious of your skills.

Thanks Emma I'll take a look, sounds pretty good as all the difficult stuff is done by someone who knows what they're doing.

Re: Hello from Medway, UK

Thanks everyone for your lovely warm welcomes and sensible comments about browsing being research!!! It does give the eyeballs a chance to get back into focus after such close concentrated work, so perhaps theraputic as well. Looking in the HEAD site has given me a great perspective on what brillian...

Re: Can Anyone help with Photo Conversion techniques

Thanks skitzzzzz, I stupidly assumed you just chuck a photo in and out would pop a wonderous chart. What a plonk. Thanks for your advice I will just have more patience in the future.

Regards

Can Anyone help with Photo Conversion techniques

My latest enthusiasm for x stitch (after many years of other crafts) began November 2011 when I had the idea of x stitching the faces of my 5 grandchildren in readiness for 2012 xmas presents for my two daughters. I already had software to convert photo's into charts but the colours in the keys came...

Re: Thanks Carole

Well I've just spent an extremely pleasant hour looking thru most of the HEAD designs and have already written a list of my favourites. Trouble is, unless I am really strong with myself I can easily see myself getting a few off my list, starting one and then not finishing the lengthy project I've al...

Re: Hello from Medway, UK

Wow, thank you all for replies and suggestions. I got a bit waylayed over the weekend trying to switch our utility supply. It seems that whichever method you find easiest, it's perseverance that gets the job done. Like Jill my threads are so close together in shades that I can't tell the difference ...

Re: Hello from Medway, UK

Thanks everyone for the advice and welcome. How wonderful to speak with people who enjoy stitching as well - no one in my family or friends do, so its hard to chat about problems. I love the idea of not caring what the back looks like (unless its seen), how refreshing not to be tied to convention. W...

Re: Hello from Medway, UK

Thanks so much ladies, I wondered Squirrel if I should leave the threads hanging (didn't know this was called confetti stitching), but will definitely try. I'll have 11 needles hanging round the first inch of chart. The picture will probably take a year to complete with 94 differing quiet shades of ...

Hello from Medway, UK

Brand new to this forum and wanted to ask a question. I'm starting a large vintage X stitch graph called Old Woman in the Woods. Most of the stitches are 'one offs' with the next stitch in that colour anything between 4 - 12 threads away. Is there a simple or best practical method of dealing with th...

Re: Pattern Making Programs

Hello Everyone I've just registered to ask a different question but found this topic first. I've purchased PC Stitch 10 and uploaded photo's of my 5 grandchildren. I've changed the photo's a lot before loading them into PC Stitch but still cannot get real life colours within the key. I end up with p...
