Pinocchio cross stitch HELP!!!
Okay so today I went back to my Pinocchio wishes upon a star by Thomas Kinkade and I'm looking at the pattern and color chart and it totally in black and white! All the back stitch details are shades of gray and there is no way to tell what is what. See photos below... http://i.imgur.com/w6dIBor.jpg...

Re: Snow White Discovers the Cottage
I just finished mine this week! Your's is looking lovely! Don't be daunted by all the french knots to come. It goes by in a flash only about 5-6 evenings to do all the knots and back stitching.

Silk thread
I know some of you use silk threads in your projects and I'm wondering 1)what brand do you use 2)where do you get it 3)and how you use it (e.g. As an accent or the whole thing)? I'm interested in doing this http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=10184&z...

Same thing happened to me! I had forgotten I had signed up and last week I got a package in the mail! To bad I got it after starting my cousin's kids on some kits already... Wonder if DMC is getting better at getting mentors now.

Re: What's your biggest pet peeve
OMG all of these! Glad I'm not alone! I just switched two shades of gray on my snow white and I was so mad :tantrum: (PS I love that smiley so much). But it turn out alright so no harm no foul. A new pet peeve that recently came to me was when the tiny little fluffy ends of one thread (particularly ...

Re: Explaining Couching
Here's the explanation I wrote from this http://crossstitchforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18462 thread. The way that I understand couching is that you lay the piece of thread (I've usually done it with gold metallic) along the front side of the stitched piece, along the line indicated on the char...

For my friends baby
One of my dear friends and a bridesmaid in my wedding just had an adorable baby boy. I tend to go through cycles of cross stitch and crochet. I started this project last May when I found out she was pregnant, and then got absorbed in the world of cross stitch and it was pushed to the side. Well I fi...

Re: Reusing thread
Anything less then 2 inches goes anything longer then 2 inches stays. No I do not actually pull out a ruler but over the years I have figured out what 2 inches looks like and I can tell at a look if it stays or goes. Is that crazy??????? The other day, and the reason I asked the question. I ...

Reusing thread
Here's a scenario....you're stitching along and you reach the end of the column your working on or have stitched all of one particular color and still have thread left. How long does the thread have to be in order for you to wind it around the bobbin to use again at a later date? For me, I used to k...

Re: How can you tell if you're too tired for stitching??
I feel it in my fingers. They get a little stiff and I can't hold the needle right or thread it. Then it's time to put the project away till morning.

http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o545/kyootfaerie/2013-01-04061335_zpsc378acf2.jpg That's how I did it for my first HAED. I just gridded the first page MaggieM1750 mentioned. I tied a knot at the top about 5 stitches from the top of the page and went over 10 and under 10 to the bottom. I was tyi...
