Cross stitch is great for relaxing and just 'turning off' - just ask any of my family who get ignored when I've got a needle in my hand  I'm still quite new to this craft and really new to this forum but everyone is friendly and will make you very welcome! I hope...

Hello from Scotland!! I'm so impressed that you do your own designes - i've got as far a buying graph paper and looking at books for inspiration but not really felt 'ready'. Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Re: Suggestions for a Newbie!!
Thank you all for such a great post - as a newish stitcher it's good to have all the info in one place. Will be back and forward to this post lots of times.

Re: ouch.....
It's so easy to do 'one more' thread length/row/stitch etc etc and because time stops when your stitching it's easy to over-do it. Hope you rest up and recover soon!

Well done! After all your hard work it must be so satisfying to have it all framed up. I admired it in the mag and it is so nice to see it 'up close'.

It's hard for me to get uptown so I use Sew and So online and they have always been excellent - i'm happy with the selection of items, the speed of delivery and communication.

Re: how did you start?
I'm a late starter! I fell ill about 4 years ago and ended up disabled and having to retire from work. Although I have done papercrafting for many years I felt that I needed 'something else'. About a year ago my husband took me shopping and looking at the magazine section I saw a cross stitch magazi...

Re: How do you organize your floss?
I'm a bobbin girl storing them in a DMC storage box - I love sorting out threads - almost as relaxing as actually stitching and just makes me want more - or should I say 'need' more.
