Re: My stitching partner

Haha, hooray! My husband-then-boyfriend made me watch all those things in college. My favorite was "I'm a computer."

Re: OT - Is anyone here in Goodreads?

I've been on Goodreads for years- here's me: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/2158267-amanda" target="_blank Just FYI, the recommendation tool is new and I totally ignore it. It never recommends me anything I'm interested in. But it's a nice place to catalogue books if you own a lot, for...

OH MY HOLY HOUSEPANTS it's the slap/chop guy on the schticky's site! Have you seen this guy's infomercials? They're insane. Seriously, YouTube the infomercial for the slap/chop. It's...unintentionally hilarious.

Re: Unusual Charts

Well, not to be snarky or anything, but I've always thought this Scarlet Quince chart was kinda weird: http://www.scarletquince.com/pat.php?pat=MAR002" target="_blank :thinks: I guess what I'm really saying is that I think the piece of artwork is kind of weird, since her charts are all bas...

rcperryls- The employees didn't say anything- I get a new person each time. BUT the first woman did say something about how I'm in there all the time. If she had stuck around she would've really seen how devoted I am!

Thanks, everyone! The whole thing made me a lllliiiitttllleee stabby, and my husband was all "why don't you just buy a complete one and stop messing with it?" I will not be defeated, haha! I knew this group would understand :D

The Sad Saga of my Frankenstein Lap Stand (rant)

Warning: VERY long story, but no one in my family cares/understands about this saga. So I get a coupon in the mail for 20% off my purchase at Michaels and I head over to pick up floss so I can kit up this chart (http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=160_436&...

Re: Keeping floss neat while parking?

@JazzeyBear No, that makes a lot of sense- I was wondering especially how the tails you leave when you start don't get mixed up in the parked threads, but I guess the tape would help keep everything separate. I would love some pictures, though :D @Skittles That method of parking the starting tail to...

Re: Keeping floss neat while parking?

Ok wait, how do you ladies never turn your work over (because that would be AWESOME)? Even with a waste knot, don't you eventually have to flip it over to cut the excess thread? And does that work on BAPs?

Thanks, everyone!

And yeah, the 9 shades surprised me, too! There's a few shades of pink that outline the various shapes. I don't really see the point, but I'm sure it will come together as it gets bigger. :thinks:

Random question re: Chatelaines

So I really love the look of the Chatelaines, but I was wondering if they are all done in silk? All the ones I've found online use silk thread, which I'm deathly afraid of (I'm a clumsy, messy stitcher and I'm sure I would shred silk into a million pieces).

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

I also love these confessions. I really thought I was the only one who kept projects in hoops and or q snaps. I've never had a problem with it and I know that at least one afghan had the hoop in it for 6 months when I just stopped stitching (in the days when I obeyed the 1 project at a time law) an...
