Evenweave vs. Aida

I am just curious and this may be kind of a dumb question, but what makes evenweave fabric different from Aida? I thought Aida was a type of evenweave.

Re: Heavy Metal + Cross-stitch = Slipknot WIP :D

Thanks everyone! I like both Stone Sour and Slipknot, but I like Slipknot just a tad bit more. My parents and sister thought I was crazy for cross-stitching a picture of them. haha.

the vol. 3 album cover complete with custom framing!!!!!

Ok... so I have been working on this thing like mad today, and I got quite a bit done since the last time I posted the picture (in my introductory thread). I am almost finished this quadrant and can finally move on to another part of the picture! Yay!! :) I apologize for the terrible quality of the ...

Blackwork patterns

Hello :) I was wondering where I could find blackwork patterns. This isn't urgent or anything, I was just curious because I find blackwork really beautiful. It doesn't seem like it will be that difficult even though it looks rather complex. I never found kits or anything around here either. Maybe be...

Well done! :applesauce: It's absolutely beautiful. I love the colors that you chose as opposed to the original picture you posted from the book. Very cool and I am impressed that you stitch so fast! Re: Sarah's Chinese Dragon

Looks wonderful! :applesauce: Might I ask how you stitch the colors? it doesn't look like you do color by color or line by line, but rather like the way an artist would paint a picture. How do you not get confused? I am just really curious by the way, being new to cross stitch and everything.

Re: Hello from Baltimore :)

Thanks for all the kind words! I thought I was in a bit over my head with doing a self-made pattern as my first project. It was a little tough because I have to stitch in the background too; there is so much black/dark navy/navy as well as 6 shades of red. I just go very very slowly line by line and...

Re: line by line or colour by colour

I am a little late getting to this, but I am also new here... :P I think I may be the odd one out on this one; I stitch line by line. It's easier for me and I like to see the project slowly come together. If I did color by color, I think I would get really confused easily, but then again, this is me...

Hello from Baltimore :)

Hi everybody!! My name is Brittany and I am new to this forum and to cross-stitching in general. I have only been stitching for a month now. My good friend in college got me interested and we have a stitch-a-long on Fridays. I would also like to post what I have been working on so far: http:/...
