Re: 2018 Deliveries & Stash Acquisitions

Fab four Nicola although not the Beatles! These are so delightful. love the fox best but the look in the rabbit's eye is incredible - so lifelike. No wonder you had to buy all four. How could you not. I had Very Crafty email & looked through them I still love the squirrel but did not buy a...

Re: Nicola stitches Wrendale Designs

This is lovely Nicola. As others have said the red poppy is striking against the bird colours. Amazing how many colours there are in your owl though, it is very detailed. Will look gorgeous when completed & framed :applesauce: :applesauce: Glad you are feeling better & hope you enjoy your ne...

Re: HAED The light of the world - 14th February

Vanessa this is a really beautiful creation of yours. I can't wait to see it finished. Like many other people I have always been drawn to this picture. My Mum had it in her white prayer book she had instead of a bouquet when she married my Da in 1940. It will be truly amazing when completed & fr...

Re: Elegance of the Orient Dimensions: 1st few stitches

I never thought of red fishing line Richard. I sometimes count the holes above & below fabric when gridding but most times it is haphazard. When I see some people have done very neat gridding I feel I ought to be like that but it never lasts long before I revert back to not counting length of gr...

Re: Elegance of the Orient Dimensions: 1st few stitches

Thank you Serinde. I much prefer gridding even though it takes time to do & is monotonous. I did not like stitching the Anchor cottage as I was unable to grid it satisfactorily. & I did have a few little frogs just after I'd started!! Was annoyed at myself for not taking a little more time. ...

Re: Hi all, new here :)

Oh goodness me, I cannot imagine how you in Queensland deal with weather that hot. 2 decades ago we had it just over 80 degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of weeks & that was enough for everyone, so hot & sticky!!. We had dogs then & about 7.30 pm each evening we drove to a river or a beach...

Elegance of the Orient Dimensions - 1st few stitches

First few evenings work done. I started in middle of chart which is on the silk wrap draped over geisha's arm & hangs down. On main kit pic this diamond shape is left of large pink flower on kimono.

Than you Sally, kind of you to say so. Yes, it is lovely on here - all new members get a warm welcome whether a complete novice or an experienced stitcher. Also, many different kinds of projects to see, like a patchwork quilt. What a shame Barb is unable to reconnect with this forum but how wonderfu...

Hello & welcome :D I do not sew on dark colours either but am of the same opinion as Carole about having something white on your lap to help you see. Or, is there anyway you can have a light underneath. I have seen light boxes mentioned but have never used one so don't know much about them. Perh...
