Newbie to Cashel Linen--Help?

I got my first 28 ct Raw Natural Cashel Linen fabric . I started stitching...I am like 'What in Sam Hill' is going on. At first I put in on the Large Q-snap frame, it was too large for me to try to stitch. So I put it on a wooden hoop . This fabric is very soft. No matter how I tighten the hoop it l...

Re: Threads

I am leaning more towards becoming an Anchor fan. However, I have to order it online because there is no retailer here. I have lots of DMC because that is what the local stores carry. They both have their good qualities about them. I find if you want to replace a Dimensions color? Anchor carries col...

Re: Help! Anchor colours...

I feel you on this. I had to replace and add thread for a Dimensions kit. I used the cyberstitcher's conversion chart. Spent a small fortune on threads that are way off. There is no Anchor dealer in my immediate area. I ended up buying 2 to 3 shades either darker or lighter than the conversion # to ...

Re: Newbie to Blending filaments? Ways You All Use them?

Allyn, Carole, and Debbie Thank You! I already experienced disaster with the metallics and with the DMC Satin. I noticed shorter strands and knotting the thread around the needle described in the 'The Cross Stitch Bible' works. I am going to look at the sites. I am going to use it on the dresses in ...

Newbie to Blending filaments? Ways You All Use them?

I just ordered some blending filaments and Light effects from Krenik, DMC and Glissen Gloss Rainbow. I got several gold colors, green, pink and three whites. I'm thinking about using the golds to replace the outline stitch colors? Do have to have the original outline stitch color too? I want to use ...

Re: Review sites you've ordered from

I have good experience with 123Stitch.com. Very good customer service and prices. Otherwise I go to my local hobby stores such as: A.C. Moore and Michaels. :)

Re: Bleeding colors:Way to wash by machine (mass)

I hear what you are all saying. So today I did the same for 32 colors mix of DMC and Anchor. Only 3 colors changed the water color when put into a bowl of ice water with the same dilution of Tide. So this is clearly a random event. I purposely chose my most darkest colors: navy blues and purples and...

Bleeding colors:Way to wash by machine (mass)

Hello everyone, I'm Avis, I just recently encountered bleeding colors. I was using 'Thread Heaven' and some of the color stained the wax. I decided to wash most of the colors that I am using for this particular pattern. I am using both Anchor and DMC floss. I found 4-colors that bled out when I put ...

Re: Beginning and Finishing: How To's

Richard a 117 colors? Wow and I complained about the 65 colors for a floral pattern I have. It took me a month to prep for the kit.

I am so glad I've found a culture of people whom love to cross-stitch! Most people I've encountered 'Go What in the World'? I am really enjoying this hobby.

I would like to Thank You All Serinde, Richard, Carole, Debby, and Allyn for your responses. I really appreciate it. You have all helped me release my demons about getting the perfect back especially since I never plan to enter a contest. I am going to take the advice of pulling the thread in shorte...

Beginning and Finishing: How To's

Hello to All, I am a newbie my name is Avis. I am calling for all the support of you stitcher's. I cannot get a clean back for the life of me. I have viewed Youtube channels of Flosstuber's. Yet, I still have great frustration. Most of my patterns call for 3-strands, the away waste knot is for 2-str...
