Hand-dyed 18 count Aida

Post by wendywombat »

Does anyone know where I can get some hand dyed 18 count Aida. I fancy doing a HAED mini ! ( ...yes I know!..... I've always said I wouldn't do one ...but!!! )
I can't face doing it one over one on evenweave.

I looked up Polstitchers but they only do 16 count. Where else can I try?

I'm curious - if you're doing a HAED, why do you want hand dyed aida? Won't most of the fabric be covered by the stitching anyways, with just the very edges showing when framed? Is it worth spending on hand dyed for such a small part showing?

That said, if I had the dyes, I'd offer to dye some for you for a trade. All my dyes are for wool/silk though and won't be permanent on aida. I have way more 18 count aida then I'll ever use, seeing that I like to stitch on even weave.

The design I'm thinking of doing is the Sea Turtle one which 'Allstitchedup' found. It would look good on a cushion I think. Therefore it will have quite a bit of background fabric exposed. Hence the hand-dyed Aida! :D
