looking for a good idea

Post by pepperpot »

I am expecting a new Grandchild in January. The baby is a little girl. I would like to make a birth sampler and am looking for a pattern. I like simple and not large.I have seen a few but nothing that really catches my eye. Do any of you have favorites? Pictures of completed samplers would be great. Thanks Norma

I'm not one that is drawn to many traditional baby patterns.
I don't like stitching "cute" so I am picky about what I'll work on.

I've stitched Baby Shoes by Jannalyn. But instead of the light pink or blue laces, I stitched them in apple greens.
I also like Oh Baby from Lizzie Kate. Versatile pattern and easy too customize to match decor.
And I like these animal outlines from Alessandra Adelaide. Again, easy to customize colors and add name/date info to the pattern. Smallish, quick stitches.

Happy shopping and congratulations on your new granddaughter.

Congratulations!

How about using a child's alphabet
for instance

for the first name and then adding the other birth information in backstitch.

Love the Oh Baby chart that Maggie linked to.
