Crafty jennster's Wishlist

Post by CraftyJennster »

As I've said in a Facebook group:

Is it normal to get emotional when you find a pattern that really gets to you? Searching throughout the HAED website, I found one that almost made me cry. It's called Mayan Aztec Montage.

My father is Mexican and our ancestors are Aztec. Seeing this really made me miss Mexico since it's been 21 years since I've seen my family. I only see one or two of them once or twice every 4 years or so and miss out on their lives whenever else. Just seeing the Mayan calendar made me think of the smell of the lime trees in the back yard of my aunt's house. Does anyone here ever get the same way about a pattern?

Wishlist:

Other ones are also on here, but it isn't my number one want.

The Elder:

Computer Wizard:

4 Horsemen:

Vanity: http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index. ... ts_id=5087" target="_blank

This is more than just a wishlist, though. It's a gateway to show others what I'm interested in artistic form such as fantasy, and architecture along with my family history. I still can't believe someone designed a Mayan/Aztec pattern!! :whoop:

What an interesting and awesome heritage you have Jenster and of course the Mayan Aztec Montage screamed at you - its part of you.
I often feel a similar way with anything Welsh/Celtic - even though I am NZ born my grandmother was born in Wales and I seem to have inherited her love for her home country. Maybe we all have a deep place called home.

I do hope that you can find the courage to stitch it, as I am sure it will take courage to look deep into your ancestry in this way. It certainly would be an awesome one to stitch.

Your other wishlist items are very interesting too although not designs I would take a long look at and think of acquiring. :D

I would LOVE to stitch it. I just have to find the money to get it!. I've been hoping the price would go down, but I don't see it happening anytime soon, haha. Learning about our backgrounds is a great way to spend our time, especially when it's through cross stitch! I've seen many Celtic patterns that look beautiful like the Celtic Atlantis Opal: http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index. ... s_id=11146" target="_blank :)
