Sad and Happy (for stitchers) news

Post by pixxie »

hi all,

this year has been very sad for me, having had some bad health news I've decided to give away my stash. :( :(

I have 14 packs available containing a selection of charts, (all originals, no copies.) a selection of DMC threads and other assorted goodies. if you're interested PM me with your address and I'll get them sent as soon as possible.

thank you for all the support. I'm not giving up stitching completely, but I have to face the reality that with my eye sight failing as it is that there are so many thing in my stash that will never get done, hence the reason for giving it away.

for those that have requested a pack I intend to mail them a week today to give the Easter chaos time to die away.

many hugs
Yvonne

I am so sorry to hear about your problems with your eyesight. Been there, too. I quit stitching for many years because of failing eyesight before my vision inexplicably improved and I took it back up again.

Would a magnifier help?

I was imagining that you were terminally ill, so I'm rather glad its 'only' your sight going!!! Although that is pretty hard to live with, not not an 'only' challenge at all.

Would you like some 18 count natural linen? It has lovely big holes, and although the colour is rather dull for modern tastes, I imagine you could toss it in the washing machine with some bleach to brighten it up!

I am with Ruthi, I thought it was something terminal. I am happy to hear it is not. but sadden to hear it is your eye sight.

I hope that you will be able to find a way to deal with it and keep up with the craft we all love.

I hope for the best with your eyes.

You poor thing, losing your sight is going to make a lot of changes. It's very sweet of your to give away some of your stash.

Do you do needlepoint or tapestry? My mum does this with a magnifier for her dodgy eyesight....

needlepoint mostly, the issue at the moment isn't so much the dodgy vision as the massive migraine like headaches that happen if I stitch for too long. they happen even with my prescription glasses so I can only stitch for a couple of hours at a time. at that rate it'll take the rest of the year to stitch the 2 dimensions petites I have left!!!

 Just caught up with this one!!

:rose:  :rose:

I can really relate to this as I've got to have laser treatment for a torn retina tomorrow!! Also have had migraines all my adult life. So stitching is on hold until treatment over and I can get my brain to ignore the Black Blobs and Threads floating about! :x

Enough about me!

What a generous gesture to pass on your Stash. I hope that you'll be able to adjust to the changes in your eyesight and find a pleasing hobby to fill the creative need.
