Mine's almost done. Guess having nasty cold and not being able to concentrate on editing is worth something...

I've finished stitching my design, but I haven't quite decided on the finish yet. I shall have to have a bit of a think about it. Anyway, here it is:

Image

It's stitched on ecru 14-count aida in DMC 111. The idea behind using the golden-brown variegated thread was to make it look a bit like a golden egg.

I would love to join....but i have no idea on the finishing...all i know to do is frame...nothing quite as creative as Rose's needle keep.

I just can't see how you guys make all this stuff...i have never sewn or anything...i have a friend whose mother sews a lot..she makes quilts etc I guess i need to get her to teach me some of the tricks!!

You could still join in and frame your piece if you wished. I'm sure any of us would love that! :)

I'm not much of a sewer myself and I think I've whip-stitched 99% of my projects when I've made them into something as it's the simplest way to put something together neatly - LOL!

What a pretty egg Kell!

The needlekeep is a really good idea, Rose, what a great finish! (And the wording is clever too :-))

If you've got two pieces of fabric with a backstitched border, you then run the thread through those stitches to pull the pieces together.
