Hello from Scotland!
Hi! My name is Lisa! I'm 31 and have been cross stitching on and off since I was 10. I am a stay at home mum to two beautiful little girls called Anna (6) and Molly (3). I also have a fur girl called Rosie!
I have really enjoyed looking at the forum so far, especially people's pictures of their work and I look forward to getting to know some of you!

Re: Hello from Scotland!
Thank you for the lovely welcome!
I always try to pick something that I think will date well and I don't really like to stitch cutesy, animal or fairy/fantasy designs but other than that i don't think I have a preferred style or thing to stitch
I'll def post some pictures of my current WIP, which is an Anchor kit called the Toy Shelf. I started this when I was pregnant with Molly and thought it was about time I finished since she is three now. I suppose if you looked at it, it would prob be a cutesy design but I just loved the pastel colours! Do most people post WIPs in the SAL section?
I am from Fife in the east of Scotland!

My mum has bought my older daughter Anna a printed embroidery kit for Easter (instead of an egg) to get her started on the road to cross stitch. My my mum also likes to cross stitch.stitch_me wrote:Welcome Lisa, I have two daughters (9 & 11) whom I home school and they have learned to xstitch.

Where in Fife? I used to live "over East" in St Andrews and Crail.
Yes, most of our members do post SAL* threads so others can follow their progress. You are free to have one large thread for all your different projects, or different threads for different projects -- whatever is easiest for you. We love pics and also love to cheer you on in your stitching. (Even have a magic bench so we can sit comfortably with and (also ).
*our SAL threads aren't very often "stitch alongs", but every now and again...

Thank you! I have heard that Thurso is lovely, I have a friend who is originally from there. Admittedly I have never been that far north!Mystonique wrote:Hi and welcome from Sydney. My Mum comes from Thurso 8}.

West Stirlingshire -- not as "west" as some on the forum (we have a member from Lewis), and not the mystique of Argyll, but west enough to be in the 'wet west'.LD282 wrote:Markinch/Glenrothes! Where are you now?Serinde wrote:Where in Fife? I used to live "over East" in St Andrews and Crail.
