Hi! My name is Lisa! I'm 31 and have been cross stitching on and off since I was 10. I am a stay at home mum to two beautiful little girls called Anna (6) and Molly (3). I also have a fur girl called Rosie!

I have really enjoyed looking at the forum so far, especially people's pictures of their work and I look forward to getting to know some of you!

I always try to pick something that I think will date well and I don't really like to stitch cutesy, animal or fairy/fantasy designs but other than that i don't think I have a preferred style or thing to stitch

I'll def post some pictures of my current WIP, which is an Anchor kit called the Toy Shelf. I started this when I was pregnant with Molly and thought it was about time I finished since she is three now. I suppose if you looked at it, it would prob be a cutesy design but I just loved the pastel colours! Do most people post WIPs in the SAL section?

I am from Fife in the east of Scotland!

My mum has bought my older daughter Anna a printed embroidery kit for Easter (instead of an egg) to get her started on the road to cross stitch. My my mum also likes to cross stitch.

Yes, most of our members do post SAL* threads so others can follow their progress. You are free to have one large thread for all your different projects, or different threads for different projects -- whatever is easiest for you. We love pics and also love to cheer you on in your stitching. (Even have a magic bench so we can sit comfortably with

*our SAL threads aren't very often "stitch alongs", but every now and again...

Thank you! I have heard that Thurso is lovely, I have a friend who is originally from there. Admittedly I have never been that far north!

West Stirlingshire -- not as "west" as some on the forum (we have a member from Lewis), and not the mystique of Argyll, but west enough to be in the 'wet west'.
