Hi all, new here :)

Post by thegirlwithabow »

Good morning from an overcast QLD, Australia!

My name is thegirlwithabow and I'm 28. I started cross stitching late last year when I came across some kits of my favourite TV shows.

My favourite show was first, Buffy!

I then did Pride and Prejudice for my mother's birthday in November:

I then tackled a pretty ambitious pattern, the Nightelf Crest from World of Warcraft for a work Secret Santa:

I've got a few birthday presents on the go now and am looking forward to learning more from everyone here :)

Welcome to the forum.
You're sure to learn heaps if you want to, there are many stitchers here who are so experienced it's unbelievable. Everyone is keen to help should you need it, and as many people do things in different ways, there's bound to be a way to suit you.

All the best,

Richard

 Hi there and Welcome from steamy Brisbane - where on earth in this state at the moment is it cloudy -cause I want to be there out of this everlasting sun beating down. I dislike the heat as you may have gathered.

Anyway I am delighted to have another Queenslander on the forum and I love your designs so beautifully stitched all of them. The Crest is amazing and I am sure it was a challenge but you met it and conquered it too. Well Done.

I am actually in Brisbane too! It was cloudy yesterday and then we got a bit of rain but now it's 10000000 degrees, or it certainly feels like it!

Oh goodness me, I cannot imagine how you in Queensland deal with weather that hot. 2 decades ago we had it just over 80 degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of weeks & that was enough for everyone, so hot & sticky!!. We had dogs then & about 7.30 pm each evening we drove to a river or a beach so they could have a really long run. They, as well as us, flaked out during the day.

Welcome ! It is good to see stitchers of all ages. So many arts are dying out because we rather spend time on our electronic devices than creating with our hands. Just be aware of the, "stick the needle in your finger stitch." I have the finners to prove it....happy stitching...Alaric, Canada
