Converting Loops & Threads floss

I searched on the forum and on google and I couldn't find anything!

My mom got me a lot of floss on sale because she knows that I am getting more serious about stitching and wanted me to have some basic colors. She thought they were DMC, or something that I could easily convert, but I haven't been able to find any way to convert. I tried using my Needlework Threads Color Card, but everything is just too close.

If anyone has ideas, i would really appreciate it! Thanks!

What are they called - are there any labels?

The label on it says "loops and threads". I spent a while last night trying to match up colors with what I already have and figured out a few. If I can't figure it out, I will just have to check them against actual DMC thread on a project by project basis if I think it is close!

I couldn't find any kind of conversion chart for this thread online. You may want to contact the manufacturer - it looks like Loops & Threads is owned by Michael's. Send them an email and see if they have a conversion chart available. Most of the thread companies are really good about providing that kind of information for their customers. Good Luck!!

Oh the scary world of overly-helpful relatives. When you think you've seen it all...

I hope you can find decent conversions! I had a run in with that some months ago when we bought a storage unit from my boyfriend's 80+ year old coworker, a lot of his late-wife's belongings and her gigantic stash of all things crafty (including a sewing table in which can store a machine and a 1910-1920's original Singer hand-painted cast iron table & machine... wow!). She had a lot of J&P Coats/Coats and Clark thread that isn't stocked anymore and is quite old. I tried contacting them but even they couldn't figure out what some colors were!
