Software/apps to use for zooming while stitching?

Hello! I'm a new member but i'm not new to cross stitching. A dear friend taught me back in the late 80's and produced many projects for several years before motherhood and a full time job left little time for anything else. I've recently begun to get the itch again and picked up my needle, floss and aida a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I've been poking around online. My how things have changed yet stayed very much the same.

I'm a nut for anything techy, so the idea of having my current pattern on a screen to zoom in and out on, mark off as I work, etc. is a very tantalizing prospect! Unfortunately, I do not own an iPad which would make using GoodReader a great option. Not sure if using it on my iPhone 6+ would be worthwhile or not.

So what Android app or Windows software do you use for this? I scanned my current pattern as a PDF and opened it in Adobe PDF Reader but can't really determine how or what to use to mark those areas I've completed.

Thanks in advance :)

I use an app called GoodNotes. It is available for iPads and for Android/Windows users also. At first I used it specifically to zoom in for details when I wasn't sure (as my eyes get older) what symbol a stitch was. (I stitch a lot of HAED designs and a lot of the symbols are close to each other). Over the past year, I am using it more and more as my actual chart. It isn't meant for cross stitching, but works perfectly. I'm not sure I am going to go back to paper charts. What I'll do with all my highlighters I haven't decided!

and  welcome to the forum from South Carolina! I'm glad that you have returned to stitching and glad that you found us. What types of projects do you like to stitch?
