Stamped kit

Post by motherof4 »

I'm about to start stitching my 1st stamped work and wondered what would be the best way to do it, cross country, 10x10 or row by row. It is on 11 count aida and stitched 3 over 1, so what would be the best way to start and finish thread ?
TIA

I don't think stamped is any different from counted in this case - so it depends what you prefer to do when working a counted design! Do you usually go cross country? Do so here as well. Same for blocks. As for fastening on, with a odd number of strands you can't do a loop start, so I would leave a tail at the back and cover it with the first few stitches; either that or, if you like solid coverage and there is enough thread in the kit, change to four strands and use a loop start (I mean use two strands with a loop start so you stitch with four strands, if that makes sense).
