Tiffany you wonderful person!!!!!!!

The postman brought me three lovely threads this morning, a gorgeous orange/yellow Weeks Dye Works stranded cotton, and two Gentle Arts wool threads.

I absolutely love the Silver Fern, and how DID you know I was just looking for a pretty variegated green for a birthday card :-)? I will now try using this wool instead of the perle #8, that should make an interesting experiment!

Oh, and here they are:

Oh, what one finds when looking for something else!! While trying to track down Inga Palmgren's book "Christmas Tapestry in Cross-Stitch" (see WANTED for details), I checked out the Scandinavian Stitches site & fell in love with the Danish 2010 calendar featuring the papercutting artwork of Sonia Brandes, which had been charted for cross stitch. It features 12 animal designs with seasonal wild rose inspired borders (each one is 104 x 104). I ordered it on Thursday & it was delivered today (Monday) - great service! :applesauce:

This link shows what it looks like much better than any photos I could take. Don't know when, but I'm going to have to find a way to stitch up a couple of these sometime soon.

I know I am supposed to be on a stash ban - but this little bundle of threads was such a bargain on ebay (and there was money in paypal.....) that it was too good an opportunity to pass up:
Image
3 Cotton Dinky Dyes, 1 Wildflower, 1 Six Stranded Sweets, 1 Dragonfloss and 4 skeins from The Dye Shop in Canada (unknown to me) - a bargain at £6 inc p&p!

Thanks Mabel for the info on the Poirot story. I saw the David Suchet movie/tv show of it several times (I have seen them all several times on library/Netflix dvd's), but I'm not sure I have listened to that one. Gets confusing sometimes between what I've read, heard and/or seen.

They're filming the last few this year, don't worry David Suchet is playing him. I absolutely adore watching Poirot, I've also started up a collection of Agatha Christie books :D

Everyone is getting such lovely deliveries from the postman...I'm waiting for stuffing and buttons from him to make a couple of biscornu patterns. I'm looking forward to it.

    the first part of my stash-rebuilding order came in today!!!
Of course I didn't get home until after dark so no decent photos to be made, sorry
In that package:
- packet of size 28 piecemaker needles (omg those are soooo tiny!)
- 3 skeins of DMC color variation
- 14 skeins of DMC floss
- 1 card of PTB10
- some floss-a-way bags
- a rectangular key ring (don't know yet what will go in there)
- a mouse pad that will house Darth Vader Cookies once I get around to stitch it
- a nice big fat quarter of 25ct white lugana, for various projects, including a couple baby samplers for friends/family due in the next few months
- a piece of 18ct white Aida, which will become a bunch of bookmarks for Christmas presents
- a piece of 25 ct ice blue Lugana, to be used for my first HAED
- a piece of 28ct antique white Lugana, to be used for my second HAED
- a smaller piece of Summer Sky Jobelan - I can't remember which project I ordered this for, but I'm sure I'll find something worthy of it :)

Still to come: full DMC set, some more PTB and Color Variations, Thread Heaven, Q-Snaps with cover and Sulky Sliver for gridding

  me so happy

Here are a couple of pieces of fabric from Youthfulhandscrafts which arrived a few days ago. The blue one is a graded blue down to off white/pinkish called Twilight Falling and will likely be for my Victorian Charm.
The ovely green I just had to have because of the ferns printed on it. The Silver Fern is an emblem which was often seen after the war and the fern has always been symbolic to us Kiwis.

URL=http://s1095.photobucket.com/albums/i470/Squirel148?action=view&current=IMG_0232.jpg]Image[/URL]

Today my dear daughter took me to the Craft & Sewing Show on in Brisbane to look at the magnifying lamps etc. Here is my stash from todays fun.

Image

Image

Top one shows the Ottlight daylight magnifler lamp, my fabrics, under them a few sheets of 3D diecuts for card making and then a clip on magnifier for my stitching stand.
Under that is a close up of the 6 pieces of fabric from Sewitall. 3 plain for cards/bookmarks/whatever and 2 of the others are their regular shaded/variegated even weave plus a lovely sparkly white with snowflakes which is also even weave.

I think I might just have enough fabric to keep me going for a little while.

Lots of fun but oh so tired and a very sore knee from all that walking. Still it was worth it for all the goodies and some good giggles with the guys at Sewitall.
